Early morning of August 15, many residents of Viet Hung urban area (Viet Hung ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi) were excited and discussing the kidnapping of a 7-year-old boy that had just happened in the area.
The scene of the incident is at the BT7 villa area in the Viet Hung urban area. This place has many rows of luxury villas, many security cameras and a 24/7 security guard.
Witnesses said the kidnapper had been lurking and watching the area for days. One witness said the Kia Morning car with license plate 29A had been parked near the scene 3-4 days ago.
A woman living in BT7 also said that she had doubts about this man when he sat in the car for many hours, did not move, and his whereabouts were very mysterious.
"This guy was sitting in the car but wearing a hat and a mask covering his face," said the witness, adding that he had informed the security guard to come out and check.

On the evening of August 14, NHP (born in 2016, living in the BT7 villa area) was cycling alone near his house. According to witnesses, at around 7 p.m., the boy was kidnapped and taken to a car. More than 10 minutes later, the family received a phone call from the suspect. He informed the family that they had to pay 15 billion VND to ransom their son.
"At first, the child's parents thought someone was calling to tease them because they had just seen their son riding his bike. After they couldn't find him, they were shocked and asked me and everyone else to check the camera," said the witness.
According to witnesses, the kidnapper made calls using a junk SIM card, each call lasting less than 15 seconds.
"Last night, about 50-60 criminal police were present in this area. They did mental work for the family, avoiding provoking the subject, " said a witness.

Regarding the moment of saving the child, the witness said the boy's mother prepared the money as requested by the kidnapper, in a handbag. The transaction took place in Phu Ly City, Ha Nam Province.
"When he handed over the bag of money, there was a GPS device inside the bag for the authorities to track. At around 5am on August 15, the subject was arrested," the witness said.
The boy was rescued safely by the police, without any injuries.

Upon receiving the report from the victim's family, Long Bien District Police immediately coordinated with professional units to cordon off the area and arrest the suspect.
The kidnapper moved through many areas such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Ha Nam to avoid pursuit. Using professional measures, at 5am this morning, the authorities arrested Trung while he was in Ha Nam.
However, the suspect prepared a gun to fight back while fleeing. While resisting the police, the suspect opened fire, causing a criminal police officer of Long Bien District Police to be hit by a bullet and injured in the thigh.
Hanoi City Police are investigating the case.
