According to information from the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone Management Board, as of 8:00 p.m. on May 28, there were 898 vehicles of goods waiting to be exported in the province, including 538 fruit vehicles, 61 other vehicles and 299 vehicles outside the border gate area that had not registered their goods, an increase of 73 vehicles compared to the previous day.
On May 28, 986 trucks were exported and imported through Lang Son border gates, including 524 exported trucks and 462 imported trucks.
Responding to VTC News on the afternoon of May 29, Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy - Deputy Manager of Dong Dang Border Gate Economic Zone - said that in recent days, the number of trucks carrying durian to Lang Son border gates waiting for export has increased dramatically, and authorities are having to take many measures to prevent congestion.

"Currently, Vietnam's durian harvest season is in full swing, so many trucks are piling up at the border gate. Lang Son province authorities have arranged these trucks to enter the duty-free area of Huu Nghi border gate so that the trucks do not have to queue on the street, ensuring traffic safety and environmental sanitation.
At the same time, we also actively discussed with the Chinese side to optimize the customs clearance process and initially worked overtime for 1 day," said Mr. Duy.
In addition, to reduce the number of vehicles waiting for customs clearance at Huu Nghi border gate, Lang Son province authorities have also transferred some trucks to Tan Thanh border gate area. " Previously, durian was only exported through Huu Nghi. Currently, the volume of goods is too much, we have proposed to the neighboring country to transfer some goods through Tan Thanh border gate area and have been agreed. In recent days, there have been trucks of durian exported through Tan Thanh border gate and are continuing to be transferred gradually," Mr. Duy added.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, vehicles carrying durian from provinces and cities across the country will continue to be concentrated at Huu Nghi international border gate for export. In particular, other fruits such as lychee, mango, dragon fruit, jackfruit... are also in harvest season, being brought to the border gates of Lang Son province, causing a risk of congestion.
This can also cause damage to businesses. Because, in hot weather conditions, fruits ripen quickly and easily lose quality, making them difficult to sell.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Lang Son province recommends that businesses, organizations and individuals involved in import and export of goods consider and proactively regulate goods to Lang Son border gate in a reasonable manner, avoiding additional costs for storage. At the same time, switch the export transportation method to railway or export through the border gates of Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Cao Bang provinces to minimize the situation of long waiting times and minimize the risk of damaged goods.
