The announcement comes on the day phase one of the deal ends.
Speaking on Al-Araby TV channel, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem confirmed that there are currently no negotiations on phase 2 of the ceasefire agreement in the Palestinian territories.
Earlier, an Israeli official said on February 26 that after the hostage handover under phase 1 of the ceasefire agreement is completed, Hamas will have three options: Disarm, or its leaders must go into exile, or give up all control over Gaza.
Phase 2 of the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is scheduled to begin on March 2.
Phase 1 takes effect from January 19 and lasts for 42 days, until March 1 (local time).
During this time, Hamas released 33 Israeli hostages. In return, Tel Aviv released more than 1,700 Palestinian prisoners.
During a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on February 27 at the White House, when asked about the future of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, US President Donald Trump said negotiations related to the Gaza Strip were going quite well.
Asked whether phase two would be rolled out, President Donald Trump said "nobody really knows" and "we'll see."
According to Gaza's health authority, Israel's military offensive on the strip since October 2023 has killed more than 48,000 Palestinians, displaced nearly the entire Gaza population and caused a famine crisis.
