From September 1-9, the ASEAN+3 Film Festival in Prague officially opened with the participation of 9 outstanding films from Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Korea, and Thailand.

Participating in this year's Film Festival along with other famous films, Vietnam brought two films: The short film Nhien produced by the University of Theatre and Cinema, telling the story of a schoolgirl under a lot of pressure in life and the film Mat Biec directed by Victor Vu adapted from the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh.
Released to the public on December 20, 2019, the film won many prestigious film awards such as the 2019 We Choice Award for Film of the Year and the Golden Lotus Award (2021). The film Mat Biec tells the story of Ngan's love across time for Ha Lan - his childhood friend. That love has not changed as they grow up, separate, and go through many life events.
The screening of the movie Mat Biec on September 5 was warmly received by the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and Czech audiences.

Speaking at the opening event and screening day of Vietnamese films, Ambassador Thai Xuan Dung emphasized the importance of promoting the culture, cuisine, and landscapes of Asian countries to the Czech people.
Through the romantic footage and scenes and poetic settings of the film "Mat Biec", the audience can partly feel the spiritual life and majestic nature of Vietnam through the screen.

The ASEAN +3 Film Festival was held for the second time in the Czech Republic at the Prague City Library, continuing the success of 2022. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Czech Senate, the Czech House of Representatives, the Czech Diplomatic Corps, and the Czech public and the ASEAN +3 community.
