Two Bao Loc students won gold and silver medals at the International Invention Competition

(LĐ online) - At the International Invention Competition (Indonesia International IOT Olympad) recently held in Indonesia, Bao Loc City had 2 excellent middle and high school students surpassing hundreds of students from 4 continents to win gold and silver medals.

On August 14, the Department of Education and Training of Bao Loc City announced that it had just received information that two students in the city had won medals from the Organizing Committee of the International Invention Competition (Indonesia International IOT Olympad). Accordingly, Tran Cao Anh Khoa (class 9A8, Quang Trung Secondary School) had won an individual gold medal and a special team prize. Phan Le Tue Minh (class 10A2, Bao Loc High School) had won a silver medal.

The International Invention Competition, organized by the Indonesian Young Scientists Association and Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, took place in mid-June 2023. The competition attracted 143 teams from 13 countries in 4 continents (Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America) to compete. This is an international intellectual science playground with the aim of creating an environment for students to demonstrate their inventions and initiatives. Thereby, to meet the needs of students to learn and explore the world when the internet and the speed of technological change are growing stronger as today.

After nearly 2 months of judging, the Organizing Committee has selected outstanding topics and products with high potential for practical application to award prizes.

At this Contest, Tran Cao Anh Khoa (Quang Trung Secondary School) competed in the Natural Science and Technology category with the topic and product Wifi - TRASHBOT - Waterbody trash picking robot with Wifi remote control. With this topic, Anh Khoa excelled over hundreds of competitors to win the individual gold medal; at the same time, Anh Khoa and his teammates in Hanoi excelled and won the special prize at the Contest.

Similarly, at the Competition, Phan Le Tue Minh (Bao Loc High School) competed in the Applied Science category with the topic: Application of Elementary Mathematics in Football. Tips for goalkeepers and defenders to save the Goal. As a result, Tue Minh won the silver medal.

Both topics and products that won prizes at the Contest were instructed by teacher Pham Gia Huan - President of Bach Khoa Math and Science Club (Bach Khoa Math and Science Club, in Hanoi).

In recent years, Bao Loc education sector has paid special attention to training and scientific research in schools through competitions attracting a large number of students to participate. Along with that, many teams, groups, technical innovation research clubs, STEM clubs have been established in schools, with the guidance of teachers.

In 2022, Le Huu Bao, a 12th grade Chemistry student at Bao Loc High School for the Gifted, also won a gold medal at the International Science and Invention Competition held in Malaysia.

These are the proud results of students in Bao Loc City when competing in regional and international science and technology innovation competitions.
