The Cao Lanh city bypass (Dong Thap) has a total length of more than 14.5km with a total investment of more than 900 billion VND and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The Cao Lanh city bypass, in Dong Thap province, has 3 construction packages, numbered 9, 10 and 11 respectively. The project is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of this year, but so far only package number 10 has achieved progress as planned.
The first meters of asphalt have been paved on the Cao Lanh city bypass (Dong Thap).
Mr. Nguyen Trong Duc, a technical officer of Construction Trade Service Joint Stock Company 68 (the contractor for package 10) said that the package has a total length of about 4 km. Up to now, the contractor has basically completed the work volume, of which the first 100m of asphalt has been paved. After inspection by relevant units, the contractor will continue to lay asphalt on a large scale.
Mr. Duc added that to ensure progress, the company has increased human resources, machinery and equipment, and organized 3 continuous shifts from 7am to 11pm. The package is expected to be completed by the end of December and handed over soon.
The contractor strives to deliver the package as soon as possible.
However, the remaining two packages, No. 9 and 11, are facing difficulties in sand supply, leading to delays in construction progress.
Mr. Ton Van Bi, technical officer of Construction Joint Stock Company 207 (contractor of package 11) said that the company has completed more than 60% of the work volume.
Currently, at the construction site, the contractor is organizing workers to construct circular culverts and is expected to complete the roadbed loading by the end of this year.
"The total amount of sand required for the package is 70,000m3. However, up to this point, excluding the purchased volume, the contractor is waiting to be allocated an additional 50,000m3 of sand to speed up construction," said Mr. Bi.
If sand arrives early at the construction site, the Cao Lanh city bypass will strive to reach the finish line in June 2025.
According to the Dong Thap Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the progress of the bypass route is currently over 75%. However, because the first contract extension period is only until the end of this year, contractors need to complete documents and procedures to hand over completed packages on time.
The Project Management Board added that according to the plan, sand would be distributed to the construction site in November, but so far, the sand source has not arrived at the construction site. When the sand source arrives at the construction site, the investor will request the contractor to increase manpower, equipment and organize overtime to complete the project by June 2025.
The Cao Lanh City bypass (Dong Thap) is 14.5km long, starting at National Highway 30 in An Binh Commune, Cao Lanh District, and ending at Phong My Bridge. The project has a total investment of over VND900 billion, with a road surface width of 11m and a speed of 80km/h. In addition to the road, the project also builds bridges, culverts and branches to intersections.
