Previously, at 7:30 p.m. on March 18, a resident of Lac Tan 1 village, Phuoc Diem commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, went to Phuoc Diem commune police to report the unusual disappearance of her two children, Tran Van Giang (born 2015) and Tran Ngoc Tay (born 2018).
Along with broadcasting information on the local radio system to help people search, Phuoc Diem Commune Police coordinated with mass organizations and families to check many traffic routes, lagoons, etc.
At nearly 9pm on March 18, relatives discovered the bodies of two brothers G and T under sewer number 1 in front of the village gate, about 50m from their house and near Ca Na lagoon. Determining that the two brothers died from drowning, their family took them home to prepare for the funeral.
It is known that Tran Van G is currently a student in class 3G, and Tran Ngoc T is a student in class 1H at Lac Nghiep Primary School, Phuoc Diem Commune, Thuan Nam District. His father works in Binh Dinh Province, his biological mother is a worker at a teddy bear factory in Thuan Nam District, so after school hours, G and T return home to their grandparents.
After the afternoon class on March 18, the two children left school to go home around 4 p.m., changed clothes, and invited each other to go to sewer number 1 in front of the village gate to play, but unfortunately slipped and fell into the sewer, leading to drowning.
In the report this morning, March 19, the Principal of Lac Nghiep Primary School said that the school has organized donations from teachers and students to visit, encourage, and support the burial of the victims, and at the same time, set up procedures to request the company that collects student insurance fees to settle the regime for G and T according to the law.
