In recent days, information about the demolition of the "Shark Jaw" building in Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) has attracted many people and tourists to visit and take photos. However, gathering in large numbers on the street and parking vehicles in violation of regulations poses a potential risk of disorder and traffic safety.

Faced with the above situation, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police issued a warning and requested residents and tourists not to stop, park, or gather in large numbers on the road or sidewalk in the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square area.

Stopping vehicles and gathering in large crowds in the wrong places not only endangers yourself but also affects traffic and spoils the urban beauty.

Traffic police remind drivers of illegal parking.

When visiting or taking photos in this area, people must comply with regulations, absolutely comply with the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, not stop or park illegally, and not gather on the roadway causing traffic obstruction.

The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police has directed local units to increase forces to patrol, control, strictly handle violations, ensure traffic safety, and avoid congestion in the central area.

People who want to visit and take photos can arrange to visit on weekends, when the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street is open. The walking street around Hoan Kiem Lake opens from 7pm on Friday to midnight on Sunday every week. During this time, the area around Hoan Kiem Lake will be closed to traffic, creating more favorable conditions for people to travel and take photos without affecting traffic order.

The "Shark Jaw" building, managed by the Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco), was built from 1991-1993 and is one of the modern structures north of Hoan Kiem Lake. The building is 6 stories high, with a floor area of about 390 square meters, of which the first floor is for rent to sell shoes and handbags; from the second floor up, food and drinks are sold. The walls surrounding the building are covered with billboards advertising major brands.

Recently, the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee issued a notice of the conclusion of the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee on the implementation of tasks on planning and renovating the space east of Hoan Kiem Lake. Accordingly, the city requested departments and branches to come up with a plan to demolish the "Shark Jaw" building before April 30 and expand Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square before September 2. Three basements in this square area will be built in the next phase.
