Ha Tinh has just been given 321,000 high-dose vitamin A tablets and 94,000 deworming tablets by the National Institute of Nutrition to organize for children to use, starting from June 5.
A campaign to supplement vitamin A combined with deworming for children was organized throughout the province. In which, children from 6 to 59 months old were supplemented with vitamin A, children from 24 to 59 months old were combined with periodic deworming.
Ha Tinh is preparing to launch a campaign to supplement vitamin A combined with deworming for children.
To ensure the campaign is organized safely and effectively, the Provincial Center for Disease Control has made a plan to determine the need for vitamin A and deworming medicine and send it to the National Institute of Nutrition; receive and distribute vitamin A and deworming medicine, and guide localities and units to organize and implement the supplementary campaign according to the correct procedures.

In addition, localities and units also strengthen communication and raise people's awareness of preventing malnutrition, preventing micronutrient deficiencies, and subjects taking vitamin A and deworming medicine... to proactively take children of the right age to take the medicine according to the schedule announced by the health sector.
The health sector recommends that parents pay attention to supplementing micronutrients for children to improve resistance.
Vitamin A supplementation and periodic deworming for children have been implemented by the health sector for many years to prevent and combat micronutrient deficiencies for children's development. However, according to the health sector's recommendations, to prevent and combat micronutrient deficiencies, in addition to the short-term solution of taking micronutrient supplements such as high-dose vitamin A capsules, multi-micronutrient tablets, etc., the medium-term solution is to use micronutrient-fortified foods and the long-term solution is to improve the quality of meals. The health sector encourages people to use a variety of foods in their daily meals, prioritize choosing and using foods rich in micronutrients, and exclusively breastfeed their babies for the first 6 months. |
