The planting area of winter crops in 2022 reached 12,511 ha/11,524 ha, reaching 106.8% of the plan.
Some demonstration models with high efficiency include: production of new corn varieties NK6275, CP519, CP512, SSC586, NK7328, HN90, MK399, P4311, P4554 in Huong Thuy, Huong Do, Dien My communes (Huong Khe); conversion of rice-growing land to chrysanthemum cultivation (Cam Xuyen);...
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quang Tho presented the 2023 winter crop production project.
Regarding winter crop production in 2023, according to the forecast of Ha Tinh Hydrometeorological Station, this year's rainy season is likely to appear late and end earlier than the average of many years (TBNN), the number of heavy rains is not much and heavy rains are mainly concentrated in the second half of September - October 2023. The winter-spring temperature of 2023 - 2024 is quite high, the number of severe cold spells is not much. The first severe cold spell is likely in the first half of December 2023 (earlier than the TBNN).
In addition to favorable conditions, winter-spring crop production in 2023 continues to face a number of difficulties such as: limited people's psychology in investing in intensive farming and expanding winter-spring crop production area; low production efficiency; large-scale production areas have not been formed, and are not attractive...
On that basis, the guiding viewpoint of the agricultural sector is to be proactive, decisive and flexible in direction and management, especially in the seasonal structure to avoid and minimize risks caused by natural disasters; diversify crops, promote intensive farming and application of science and technology, increase value per unit area, meet market demand, ensure food sources, and prevent hunger and cold for livestock in winter.
The whole province strives for a total winter crop area of 2023 of 11,890 hectares; of which, corn for grain is 4,259 hectares, yield of 42.11 quintals/ha, output of 17,935 tons; biomass corn is 1,649 hectares, yield of 32 tons/ha, output of 52,782 tons; vegetables of all kinds are 4,524 hectares, yield of 65.45 quintals/ha, output of 29,610 tons; sweet potato is 1,458 hectares, yield of 66.57 quintals/ha, output of 9,705 tons...
Vice Chairman of Cam Xuyen District People's Committee Le Ngoc Ha: Cam Xuyen will have funding to support feasible models, no investment, scattered direction; call for more small and medium enterprises to participate.
To achieve the set goals, Ha Tinh continues to strengthen information and propaganda work to raise awareness, create high determination in the political system from the province to the grassroots level to deploy and effectively implement the 2023 winter crop production project with the motto of overcoming difficulties of weather and epidemics, mobilizing means and forces to organize production; gradually linking production, increasing the value of agricultural products; organizing study tours of effective models in the province to replicate typical examples.
Along with that, exploit to the maximum, cover the area of colored land, garden land; structure on rice land in areas with good drainage conditions to increase the land use coefficient.
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ha Tinh province Nguyen Van Viet spoke at the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ha Tinh province Nguyen Van Viet suggested that based on the cropping schedule and the varieties proposed by the province, depending on the specific conditions of the locality, there should be a realistic planting plan. For areas that are not flooded, it is necessary to be proactive in terms of cropping schedule, structure of crops, and varieties with high productivity, output and economic value to achieve the highest results.
Localities and production facilities proactively support finding markets inside and outside the province to consume products in small-scale production areas and seasonal products for farmers.
Guide and direct the establishment of growing areas eligible for codes and issue growing area codes when meeting the conditions; based on the potential and advantages of each area to organize the development of new production models with economic value. Along with that, focus on implementing well the management of the supply of agricultural materials such as: plant varieties, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.
For the summer-autumn rice harvest, localities monitor, urge and direct the implementation of the motto "green house is better than ripe field", organize the harvest as soon as the rice is ripe, and resolutely do not let the ripe rice be flooded when floods occur.
