On the morning of December 17, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan had a meeting to welcome and work with a delegation of representatives of China Railway Signal Corporation (CRSC), led by Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director Lou Qiliang.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that Hanoi is operating and implementing many new urban railway development projects, funded by many international partners. Of these, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong elevated railway line invested by China and the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line funded by France have been put into commercial operation.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan also stated that urban railways are identified as the "backbone" of the public transport system, contributing to solving the problem of traffic congestion, gradually building a civilized and modern capital. Therefore, the city is implementing many other key urban railway lines such as line 2 (Nam Thang Long - Noi Bai) line 3 (Troi-Nhon-Hoang Mai), and at the same time preparing to invest in developing railway line 5 (Van Cao-Hoa Lac).
Along with that, the city continues to expand the urban railway lines that are being exploited. In particular, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line will continue to complete the underground railway section of about 4km extending down to Hoang Mai district, and the Cat Linh - Ha Dong line is being studied to expand to Xuan Mai (Chuong My district).
In order to overcome the delay in investment progress, Hanoi has established a project to complete the railway system by 2035. In the next 10 years, the city will invest in developing 10 urban railway lines with a total length of nearly 410km. In the period of 2035-2045, the city will continue to invest in developing 5 additional railway lines, increasing the total length of urban railways to more than 600km. The total investment capital for the above project is up to 55 billion USD, equivalent to about 1.3 million billion VND.
In addition, Hanoi is also coordinating with relevant ministries, branches and localities to implement national railway projects with inter-regional and international connectivity, ...
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRSC Lou Qiliang said that as a Chinese state-owned enterprise with a large market share in the railway signal information sector, CRSC has the conditions to mobilize capital and implement project investment.
Mr. Lau Qiliang affirmed that investing in the railway system in Hanoi is completely feasible and effective. With extensive experience, CRSC and other Chinese construction enterprises are willing to cooperate closely to develop the best railway system in Hanoi.
In addition, the group also proposed that Hanoi city introduce reputable Vietnamese enterprises to coordinate in implementing projects to ensure quality and progress.
Welcoming CRSC to explore investment cooperation opportunities, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan affirmed that the city is implementing a series of urban railway projects, which will bring many opportunities for foreign businesses and investors, including China, to explore and participate in investment.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan also expressed his hope that with close cooperation, the parties will overcome all difficulties and build an advanced and modern public transport system. This development will bring many positive results not only for Hanoi but also for international partners in the future.
