The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 1024/UBND-KGVX on the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-T of the Prime Minister and Official Dispatch No. 1572/BYT-PB dated March 19, 2025 of the Ministry of Health on the implementation of measles vaccination.
Accordingly, the City People's Committee requested units to urgently carry out a series of tasks. The Department of Health was assigned to continue directing and supporting medical units to accelerate the implementation of the Measles Vaccination Campaign.
The goal is that by March 31, at least 95% of children aged 6 months to under 9 months in Hanoi must receive one dose of measles vaccine. The Department of Health ensures adequate vaccine supply and timely distribution to districts, towns and cities, and directs hospitals to strictly implement infection prevention procedures, screening and isolating patients to avoid cross-infection.

In addition, the Department of Health coordinates with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize communication activities to raise public awareness about the importance of measles vaccination;
Strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of the vaccination campaign and weekly summarize and report the results of the vaccination campaign to the City's Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention.
The Department of Culture and Sports coordinates with the Department of Health to provide information and guide the city's press agencies, central and local press agencies to coordinate in communicating the benefits of proactive measles vaccination so that people can fully vaccinate their children on schedule, ensuring that children from 6 months to under 9 months old are vaccinated with 1 dose of measles vaccine and children from 1 to 10 years old are fully vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine;
Encourage people to proactively vaccinate women of childbearing age with measles-rubella vaccine according to the recommendations of the health sector. Information work must be accurate and timely to prevent misinformation about measles epidemics.
The City People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training to step up propaganda work on measles prevention in schools;
Educational institutions need to monitor students’ health status and promptly notify health stations of cases of measles or suspected measles for treatment and isolation according to regulations. Schools also need to coordinate with health agencies to review students’ vaccination history and encourage parents to fully vaccinate their children.
Districts and towns closely monitor the measles epidemic situation in their management areas; proactively develop plans to be ready to respond to epidemic situations in the area. Direct relevant agencies and units to coordinate with the health sector to review and manage vaccination subjects, ensure that no subjects are missed and carry out vaccination safely and effectively, with the motto "go to every alley, knock on every door, check every subject"...
