On the evening of March 23, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund held an award ceremony for Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces 2024. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and presented the award.

Prime Minister hopes young people will turn difficult into easy

Speaking at the award ceremony of Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces, the Prime Minister was delighted that the 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces and 8 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces continued to have a wide and strong influence, creating prestige in the community.

The award honors young people with outstanding achievements in various areas of social life such as: study, production, scientific research, creativity, culture and arts, physical education, sports, national security and defense, and volunteering for the community.

The Prime Minister said that our Party, State and people completely trust and have great expectations for the contributions of the young generation, of Vietnamese youth of the new era, in this glorious cause.

"Once you are determined, you must be even more determined. Once you have made an effort, you must make even greater efforts. Once you have acted decisively, you must act even more decisively. Work with focus and key points.

The Prime Minister requested the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union to launch practical, effective, deeply humane emulation movements and have specific programs, plans, tasks and solutions to further promote the role, contributions and dedication of young people in all fields;

Focusing on "Three Pioneers" and "Six Key Points" including: pioneering innovation and strategic vision. Vietnamese youth must think far, broadly, deeply, and do big things.

Second is to pioneer in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Vietnamese youth must dare to confront and engage in new fields of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, create breakthrough projects and products, and promote increased labor productivity.

The Prime Minister believes that young people who dare to take risks and commit themselves will create businesses with outstanding growth potential, the "unicorn start-ups" of Vietnam.

Third, pioneer in nationalizing human civilization in our country and internationalizing advanced culture, imbued with the identity of the Vietnamese people, to the world.

The Youth Union urgently streamlines its apparatus.

Regarding the "six focuses", the Prime Minister put the implementation of assigned political tasks of the youth as the top priority. The Prime Minister asked the Youth Union to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, promptly grasp the legitimate needs and aspirations of the youth.

In particular, promoting the role of youth in implementing three strategic breakthroughs in institutions, human resources and infrastructure.

The Prime Minister requested the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to urgently reorganize its apparatus as the second priority. Reorganizing the apparatus contributes to building a lean, compact, strong, effective and efficient political system.

The third focus is to promote growth. Vietnamese youth need to further promote their youth, intelligence, enthusiasm, creativity, and take the lead in labor, production, and business in all fields and in all locations.

The fourth focus is to achieve social justice and progress, ensure social security, and improve people's spiritual and material life.

The fifth focus is to promote international integration and the sixth focus is to strengthen national defense and security, ensuring social order and safety.

The Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award is a noble award presented by the Central Youth Union, to honor outstanding young people under 35 years old, with outstanding achievements in many fields: Study, Scientific Research - Creativity, Labor and Production, Business - Startup, National Defense, Security and Order, Sports, Social Activities, Culture and Arts, and State Administrative Management.

In 2024, the Award Standing Committee received 159 nominations from 55 units nationwide. The highlight this year is the very high quality of the Young Face nominations: 21 nominations are PhDs, 3 nominations are associate professors. 10 nominations were awarded the Second Class Labor Medal; 10 Third Class Labor Medals; 7 nominations received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister.

The award council went through two rounds of selection and online voting to find 10 Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces and 8 Promising Young Vietnamese Faces.
