Mr. Tuong Nguyen Su, Principal of Ngo Thoi Nhiem Primary, Secondary and High School, said that the average salary of teachers at the school is currently more than 30 million VND/month, the highest is 60.7 million/month, the lowest is 14 million/month.
Every year, the school increases teachers' salaries by about 10%, while tuition increases by 3-5%.
"We now have to try to pay double or more to attract teachers. The teacher law is just a basis for further binding, further innovation and further development, further improvement, not just stopping there," Mr. Su said.
Mr. Tuong Nguyen Su added that in addition to salary, the school also builds policies that are in line with the general market level to retain teachers. These include the working environment, benefits, trust, and mutual respect. The school also arranges housing for employees in need.
In addition, the school also has additional policies such as loan support, upgrading standards to PhD and Master's degrees, support from about 50-100% depending on each person's goals, holiday bonuses, and labor competitions to attract teachers.
Ngo Thoi Nhiem Primary, Secondary and High School has 3 campuses (2 in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 in Binh Duong) and organizes teaching from grade 1 to grade 12. The school has more than 400 teachers, of which 98.5% are permanent teachers, teaching nearly 10,000 students at all levels.
