On March 20, many social networking sites in Nha Trang shared information about parents accusing a teacher in Nha Trang of beating a girl. This information was taken from a post by a Facebook account named PHSN.

The above Facebook account posted content referring to a teacher named T. who is tutoring at her private home in Tan Tien ward (Nha Trang city).

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online, Ms. LTT (69 years old, residing in Nha Trang City) confirmed that she was the teacher mentioned in the posts on social media. Ms. T. said the incident happened on the afternoon of March 19.

According to Mrs. T., yesterday afternoon the girl came to her house to study but she refused to go inside.

At this time, Ms. T. used a wooden ruler to hit the iron door to scare the girl into going to school, but accidentally hit her butt.

"Children's skin is sensitive, I didn't think it would bruise like that. If I had known, I wouldn't have dared. This girl is about to enter first grade," said Ms. T.

Ms. T. also said that right after the incident, the parents came to talk and the Tan Tien Ward Police invited her to the headquarters to work.

"I am a retired teacher, and I only tutored a few children. After the incident happened, I apologized to the child's family," said Ms. T.

Tuoi Tre Online also contacted the phone number of the PHSN Facebook account many times, but this person did not pick up the phone.

Regarding this incident, Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Minh - Chairman of Tan Tien Ward People's Committee - said that she has directed relevant forces to verify and handle the incident according to regulations.
