The railway industry offers discounts of up to 30% for passengers who buy tickets in advance during the summer period from May 18 to August 20, when travel demand increases.
Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said the discount applies to individuals who buy tickets far from the date of travel on the Thong Nhat train such as SE3/SE4, SE7/SE8 with a travel distance of over 900 km, SE21/SE22 with a travel distance of over 600 km; SQN1/SQN2 train between Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon with a travel distance of over 400 km, SNT1/SNT2 train with a travel distance of over 300 km. However, the 4-bed compartment on SE3, SNT1, SNT2 trains is not eligible for the discount.
Passengers who purchase tickets 20-39 days before departure receive a 20% discount; 40 days or more in advance receive a 30% discount. When changing or returning tickets, passengers must change or return them 72 hours before departure, with the deduction fee equal to the discount.

Ho Chi Minh City - Phan Thiet route, train pair SPT1/SPT2, when purchased 10 days or more in advance, will receive a 10% discount on ticket price, but does not apply to 4-bed cabin seats.
The discount policy still applies to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, the elderly, children, students, union members...
Also during the summer, Saigon Passenger Transport Company runs more passenger trains on the Saigon - Nha Trang route to serve tourists. Specifically, from May 31, train SNT4 departs from Saigon station every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 10:05 p.m. In the opposite direction, from June 1, train SNT5 departs from Nha Trang station every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Currently, on this route there is a pair of trains SNT1/SNT2 every day, departing from Saigon station at 8:00 p.m., and returning from Nha Trang station at 8:05 p.m.
