Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station Urban Railway has met the conditions and proposed to start commercial operation from August 9.

The State Inspection Council for construction work acceptance has approved the conditional acceptance results and agreed to put the elevated line, Nhon - Hanoi station section (Project) into commercial operation.

The State Inspection Council for Construction Acceptance (the Council) conducted a site inspection and held a meeting to evaluate the results of the acceptance of the completed construction of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station elevated line project on the afternoon of August 2.

Accordingly, the construction packages of the elevated section of the Project have met the design requirements, the quality management and acceptance work has been completed in accordance with regulations, the system operation and trial exploitation work has met the technical conditions and project contract. Procedures related to fire prevention, environment, and system safety have been carried out and approved by competent State agencies.

The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line has met the conditions for commercial operation.

Since the implementation of the Project, the Standing Body of the Council has organized 21 field inspections, quality management inspections, construction documents, and acceptance of construction items, of which 6 have been conducted since the beginning of 2024.

Through the results of the field inspection, the report of the investor (Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board) and related parties, the Standing Body of the Council, and the opinions of the Council members, it is determined that the elevated section of the Project is basically eligible for the Council to consider accepting the investor's acceptance results.

The Standing Committee of the Council noted that before putting the project into operation, the investor needs to request contractors and related parties to organize a review of the entire system and auxiliary equipment serving operation and exploitation to ensure readiness, meet the ability to operate normally and ensure safety during operation and exploitation; industrial cleaning of the entire elevated section before handing over to Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd.

In addition, the Council requested the Hanoi People's Committee to direct the Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. to coordinate with the investor in receiving and handing over the project to ensure its readiness for operation, to review the preparation of human resources for train operation, and to operate and exploit it in accordance with the approved operating procedures and train schedule.

On behalf of the Council, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Xuan Dung - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Council concluded and accepted the conditional acceptance of the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station. The Hanoi People's Committee decided on the time to put the project into operation after organizing to resolve the Council's opinions, so that the project meets the requirements for operation and ensures safety.

When officially put into operation, the Hanoi urban railway pilot line, Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station section, will provide a modern, safe, fast and environmentally friendly means of public transport. The line will help people save time and travel costs, while connecting urban areas and creating favorable conditions for green and sustainable socio-economic development.

Proposal to operate Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line from August 9

MRB has also proposed to the Hanoi People's Committee to organize commercial operation of the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line from August 9.

Accordingly, the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board proposed that the Hanoi People's Committee consider and assign tasks to relevant agencies and units.

Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Transport directed the traffic inspection force to coordinate with the Traffic Police force and other relevant units to agree on a plan to organize traffic flow to ensure traffic safety during the site preparation period (August 7-8) and during the commercial operation ceremony (August 9).

The Hanoi Department of Transport has a plan to guide vehicles in the area where the commercial operation ceremony will be held, coordinate with the People's Committees of related districts to arrange the premises, arrange parking spaces, and guide vehicles in and out of the area to ensure safety and convenience.

The People's Committees of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, and Dong Da districts organize environmental sanitation, do not let people dump garbage and waste materials on the sidewalks along both sides of the road, ensure traffic safety, security and order; deploy decoration items to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital at the station area...

The completion and putting into use of the elevated section of the urban railway is a major event, marking a new development milestone in the public transport system of Hanoi Capital.

The pilot urban railway line of Hanoi City, Nhon - Hanoi Station section has a main length of 12.5km (8.5km of elevated section and about 4.0km of underground section) with the following route: starting point Nhon - along National Highway 32 - Cau Dien - Mai Dich - Intersection with Ring Road 3 - Cau Giay (intersection with Ring Road 2) - Kim Ma - Cat Linh - Quoc Tu Giam - end point Hanoi Station (on Tran Hung Dao Street, in front of Hanoi Station).
Double-gauge railway 1,435mm: European standard rails/scores UIC 60 or equivalent; station system includes 8 elevated stations (S1 to S8 stations), 4 underground stations (S9 to S12 stations), including 2 transit connection stations; Means of transport: Locomotives and wagons selected as “medium” size - Type B (European standard) with a width of 2.7m; train length 78.3m (4 wagons); Depot: area 15.05ha, located in Tay Tuu and Minh Khai wards, Bac Tu Liem district.
