This project started construction in March 2023 with a total investment of more than 237 billion VND, invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board).

The project is 2km long, 30m wide, with a complete rainwater and wastewater drainage system, trees, lighting, technical trenches and traffic organization.

Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department, said that the project construction process encountered many difficulties due to the narrow space. The roadway is only 6-8m wide, but it is necessary to organize the construction safely and ensure smooth traffic in the area.

In addition, there are many technical infrastructure works on the route (water supply pipes, medium and low voltage power grids, information and telecommunication cable systems hanging on electric poles) that need to be relocated and re-established.

In addition, the contractor will both construct and coordinate with the local authorities to carry out site clearance compensation.

The Binh Tan District Compensation and Site Clearance Board will hand over the site to the contractor, so it is not possible to construct all items synchronously and at the same time. This greatly affects the progress of the project.

“Currently, at the construction site, the contractor is speeding up the implementation of construction and technical infrastructure packages with the progress reaching 70% of the work volume. The investor has fully received the site from the locality and is coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation to underground the power grid.

It is expected that the underground work will be completed in the next 2 months, so that the investor can complete the road surface and open it to traffic in October" - Mr. Luong Minh Phuc informed.

According to the investor representative, from now until the end of 2024, the unit will work with contractors to speed up construction progress, complete and put into use other projects such as Tan Ky - Tan Quy bridge, Hoang Hoa Tham street, Ten Lua street, Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road, Ba Hom bridge to contribute to completing the traffic infrastructure system, reducing congestion in the area.

"As for Tan Ky - Tan Quy road, when the road surface is upgraded and widened to 30m, it will connect with Tan Ky - Tan Quy bridge to form a traffic axis connecting National Highway 1A to the city center and Tan Son Nhat airport. This route will help reduce traffic congestion, complete the network, and enhance traffic connectivity in the area," Mr. Phuc emphasized.

Yesterday (June 21), after 6 years of stagnation due to legal procedures and site clearance, the construction of Tan Ky - Tan Quy bridge with a total investment of 490 billion VND officially resumed.

This is the first project in Ho Chi Minh City that applies the mechanism of converting from BOT project to public investment form.

Accelerating the expansion of the 22m road connecting directly to Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 terminal. The project to expand Hoang Hoa Tham Street to 22m will create a direct connection to Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 terminal, helping to facilitate traffic and reduce congestion in the area.
