Fresh coconut, dried coconut prices increase

Mr. Le Thanh Loan, residing in Ngoc Thuan commune, Giong Rieng district (Kien Giang) said: "During the dry season, I sell fresh coconuts at a price of 8,000-9,000 VND/fruit in the garden, an increase of 3,000-4,000 VND/fruit compared to the same period in 2024. With 2,700m2 ^of land growing coconuts, I harvest about 500-700 fruits/batch but it is still not enough to meet the orders of traders".

The price of dried coconuts in Kien Giang has also increased by 25,000-30,000 VND/dozen compared to 3 days ago. In Binh An commune, Chau Thanh district (Kien Giang), dried coconuts sold in the garden cost 100,000 VND/dozen (12 fruits) for traders who come to the garden to pick them themselves, and 120,000 VND/dozen for coconuts harvested by the gardeners.

Traders said the reason for the sharp increase in coconut prices was due to high demand during hot days, plus businesses boosting exports of this product, helping coconut prices in the provinces increase.
