On the afternoon of December 1, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) had a working session with the President of the Central Confederation of Lao Trade Unions and the Cuban Workers' Center.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor expressed his joy and gratitude when Mr. Leth Xayyaphone, member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, President of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU); Mr. Ismael Drullet Perez, Standing Member of the National Secretariat of the Cuban Workers' Center (CTC), in charge of International Relations and Cooperation, attended the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.

According to President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, the Congress is an important political event for the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union. Your presence is a source of encouragement for the delegates attending the Congress; demonstrating the solidarity of the international trade union movement with the workers and the Vietnam Trade Union.
Notably, this is the first foreign trip in the new position of Mr. Leth Xayyaphone, President of the Central Confederation of Lao Trade Unions.
At the meeting, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed that developing union members and establishing grassroots unions are identified as breakthroughs. One of the important factors is the quality of the team of grassroots union presidents. The goal by the end of the 2023-2028 term is to have 15 million union members nationwide.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized: “We are very pleased with the strong and close relationship between the Vietnam-Laos and Vietnam-Cuba Trade Unions in recent years.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor attaches great importance to developing the traditional friendship and special solidarity with the Lao and Cuban Trade Unions and affirms the consistent stance of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the coming term: Continue to maintain, consolidate and further promote the relationship with the Lao and Cuban Trade Unions to become increasingly in-depth, practical and effective.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Leth Xayyaphone, President of the Central Confederation of Lao Trade Unions and Mr. Ismael Drullet Perez, Permanent Member of the National Secretariat of the Cuban Workers' Center expressed their joy at attending the Congress.
The President of the Central Confederation of Lao Trade Unions and the Cuban Workers' Center also congratulated the results and successes that the Vietnamese Trade Union has achieved in recent times; at the same time, affirmed to always stand side by side with the Vietnamese Trade Union in the mission of protecting workers.
On the occasion of the 48th anniversary of Laos' National Day (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2023) and the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2023), President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang wished the great friendship and international solidarity between Vietnam-Laos and Vietnam-Cuba to grow further.
