The development of garden tourism and eco-tourism in Dong Nai through the creative methods of farmers not only brings income to themselves but also helps the locality exploit economic potential in a reasonable and long-term way.
Garden tourism because of passion for rare birds
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong's Phong Phu Garden eco-tourism facility in Thanh Son commune (Tan Phu district) has become an attractive destination for tourists by raising and breeding rare animals.

Upon entering the garden, visitors are immediately greeted by thousands of friendly pigeons, creating a sense of closeness and excitement. Next to the garden are gentle white sheep. And the highlight of the zoo is the peacock and pheasant breeding area, which is well invested.
Mr. Phong confided that he used to do traditional animal husbandry. At nearly 50 years old, he still has not seen a peacock, pheasant or other rare birds with his own eyes.
He has a dream of creating a tourism model combined with animal husbandry, where he can satisfy his passion and create a playground for people to experience ecology.

Currently, Mr. Phong has successfully bred peacocks for reproduction with a hatching rate of over 95%. The number of peacocks is up to more than 100. Not only are green peacocks common, but there are also rare white peacocks.
In addition to common pheasants, Phong Phu Garden Eco-facility also has 7-color pheasants and Emperor pheasants, which are considered noble pheasant lines sought after by many people.
All wild animals here are licensed. Phong Phu Garden aims to continue successfully breeding rare bird breeds, aiming for commerce and expanding scale.

Also in Thanh Son commune, over the past 2 years, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung has invested in planting flowers and creating miniature landscapes on an area of 5,000 square meters to serve the needs of tourists taking check-in photos on holidays and Tet.
Not only growing flowers, Mr. Dung also invested in creating unique miniature landscapes for tourists to freely take pictures. All stages, from planting to caring for flowers, then coming up with ideas, designing and constructing the miniature landscapes, were all done by his family.
With a ticket price of 30,000 VND/person, Mr. Dung's flower field has become an interesting destination for thousands of tourists during the spring festival, while also providing his family with a source of income.
Mr. Dang Tien Thanh - Vice Chairman of Thanh Son Commune People's Committee (Tan Phu District) said that flower fields or Phong Phu Garden are both creative ways of doing things, can be expanded, and the more investment and care is put into them, the more they attract customers.
The locality is ready to support the development and replication of the model, creating economic development opportunities for the locality through ecotourism, Mr. Thanh shared.
Link to garden tourism
In Xuan Bac commune, Mr. Van Thanh Toan's Four Seasons flower garden is one of the first ecological flower gardens in Xuan Loc district. Mr. Toan said that, stemming from his passion for ornamental plants and flowers; along with 20 years of experience in growing native flowers for holidays, he created a flower garden in 2020 to serve visitors coming to enjoy the spring.
After 2 years of operation, the garden welcomed tens of thousands of visitors but only for a few months in the spring. By the end of the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the garden was empty of visitors.
To make local ecotourism activities take place all year round, he has linked up with the surrounding fruit garden owners to form a closed chain, aiming to form a community tourism village. Currently, Mr. Thanh is the Head of the Xuan Bac Commune Fruit Garden Ecotourism Cooperative.
Accordingly, each fruit garden has a unique product from guava, mangosteen, grapefruit, jackfruit of all kinds. "Along with practical experiences, visitors can freely visit the fruit garden, immerse themselves in the brilliant flower garden with many virtual living corners," said Mr. Thanh.
