On the morning of January 16, musician Luu Thien Huong removed the post and clip "accusing" a female colleague, lecturer of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music - Meritorious Artist Minh Huyen, of throwing a phone straight at her.
Sharing with VTC News reporter, the Media manager of musician Luu Thien Huong said that she is currently at the school to resolve the matter between 3 parties, including musician Luu Thien Huong, lecturer Minh Huyen and school representative.
"When there is an official result from the school, we will inform everyone as soon as possible. For now, Ms. Luu Thien Huong has hidden the post on her personal page so that the three parties can work together to resolve the issue satisfactorily," said a representative of Musician Luu Thien Huong's Media.
Currently, Luu Thien Huong and lecturer Minh Huyen are working with the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to come up with a satisfactory and mutually agreeable solution.
On January 12, musician Luu Thien Huong caused a stir in public opinion after posting about an unfortunate incident that occurred at the internal judging session of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
In an article about professional knowledge, Luu Thien Huong said that a colleague of hers at the Conservatory of Music did not understand what a beat master (a beat that has been adjusted and processed for sound) was, and that prohibiting students from singing beat masters was unreasonable, and that this view would curb students' creativity. The musician said that she had given her advice but was ignored, and then the female colleague threw a phone at her.
After the incident, Luu Thien Huong sent a notice of the incident to the school for handling, but the school did not respond, so she decided to post the incident on her personal page.
Musician Luu Thien Huong shared with VTC News reporter that after she posted this article on her personal page, the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music responded, agreeing with her that lecturer Minh Huyen's actions were wrong.
However, she later saw the director respond to the media that the incident was "not yet accurate", so she felt very sad because there was no justice for herself. Not to mention, since the incident happened, she has not received any apology from her colleagues. At the same time as the conflict with her colleagues, musician Luu Thien Huong said that she had temporarily stopped teaching at the school.
Lecturer Minh Huyen's actions and Luu Thien Huong's solution both caused mixed reactions.
After the incident, responding to VTC News, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Long, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, said that the board of directors had received the above information and because this was a sensitive matter, he could not say anything more. However, the Conservatory quickly organized a meeting with the participation of relevant parties.
During the meeting, the Council found that lecturer Minh Huyen, in a fit of anger, could not control her behavior, and had an attitude and actions that did not meet the standards of a lecturer. The Council unanimously decided to impose a disciplinary reprimand on lecturer Minh Huyen, and requested her to apologize to lecturer Luu Thien Huong at the upcoming conciliation meeting of the Conservatory of Music, and handle the matter in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Conduct of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
On the side of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Anh Tuan - Director of the Department of Training, Culture, Sports and Tourism, answered the press that he had requested relevant units to strictly handle the case of Luu Thien Huong after receiving a report from the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires the Conservatory to act seriously so as not to affect the image of the educational institution, especially the image and reputation of the school's lecturers.
