(Dan Tri) - The 5-0 victory over Nepal this afternoon (October 9) in the Asian futsal qualifying round helped the Vietnamese futsal team quickly secure a ticket to the final round of the continental tournament.
The 2024 AFC Futsal Championship qualifiers in Mongolia will see the Vietnamese futsal team in Group D along with Mongolia, Nepal and South Korea. None of these teams are stronger than the Vietnamese futsal team, including South Korea, so the team of coach Giuztozzi (Argentine) has a great chance of qualifying for the finals.

Against the underdog Nepal in this afternoon's match, the Vietnamese futsal team completely dominated. We opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, thanks to Chau Doan Phat. Then, in the 9th minute, Duong Ngoc Linh raised the score to 2-0 for coach Giuztozzi's team. Before the end of the first half, Nguyen Minh Tri raised the score to 3-0 for the Vietnamese futsal team. In the second half, despite playing quite leisurely, the Vietnamese futsal team still scored 2 more goals, scored by Tu Minh Quang and Chau Doan Phat, thereby sealing a 5-0 victory. This victory, combined with the 6-1 victory of the Vietnamese futsal team against host Mongolia 2 days ago, brought coach Giuztozzi's team to the finals. Also taking a ticket in Group D of the qualifying round to the Asian finals with the Vietnamese futsal team is the Korean team. These two teams each have 6 points, while the other two teams in the group, Mongolia and Nepal, have no points after 2 matches. The Vietnamese and Korean futsal teams will meet on October 11 to determine the top spot in Group D. The Vietnamese futsal team is temporarily ranked above the Korean team thanks to a better sub-index.
