On the morning of February 14, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam worked with a delegation from Terra Pave Company (USA) led by General Director David Pham on the possibility of cooperation in applying environmentally friendly traffic materials.
Thanking the Deputy Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation, General Director David Pham said that Terra Pave is a company specializing in providing environmentally friendly soil hardening solutions for the construction and restoration of road surfaces, parking lots, airports, as well as all other traffic-bearing surfaces.
Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam (right) welcomed and highly appreciated Terra Pave and General Director David Pham's desire to cooperate and apply environmentally friendly materials in the transport sector in Vietnam.
The company's products are researched and developed at the University of Texas and are globally recognized as leading advanced technological solutions, with high quality, cost and labor savings, construction time savings, high construction life and especially 100% environmentally friendly.
According to Mr. David Pham, the product has outstanding performance, is waterproof, 3 times stronger than cement stabilization in terms of compression and tensile strength; can be quickly delivered to the construction site within a few hours/day, without having to wait for weeks/months; is easy to construct with minimal equipment: water truck, rammer or grader. The product is recyclable, non-corrosive, non-toxic and does not contain petroleum.
Terra Pave products are present in more than 40 countries, including several Southeast Asian countries such as Myanmar and Indonesia.
"I had the honor to meet General Secretary To Lam during his working trip to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week in New York in September 2024. The General Secretary asked us to cooperate and contribute to Vietnam's development.
As a second-generation Vietnamese American, I am deeply moved by the vision that the General Secretary has shared. I look forward to contributing my skills and resources to the growth and prosperity of Vietnam, a country that holds a special place in my heart, the homeland of my parents," said David Pham.
He added that Terra Pave wants to bring technology and products into new construction and road maintenance in Vietnam as well as other fields.
Terra Pave plans to set up a factory in Vietnam to supply products to projects in Vietnam, as well as Southeast Asian countries.
Therefore, Terra Pave is ready to send experts and engineers to coordinate with Vietnam in the pilot, meeting the conditions to be suitable and successfully applied in Vietnam.
Welcoming Terra Pave Company and Mr. David Pham personally to learn and cooperate in the field of traffic construction, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam said that Vietnam is prioritizing investment in building traffic infrastructure.
In particular, the road sector is currently focusing on building expressways, reaching 3,000km by 2025, with a target of 5,000km by 2030. The Ministry of Transport is also managing and maintaining more than 25,000km of national highways.
Working scene.
Vietnam has committed at COP26 to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. The Ministry of Transport requires projects, works, and advisory agencies to apply new solutions, technologies, new, advanced, and environmentally friendly materials in new construction and maintenance of transport works.
Therefore, Terra Pave products with such outstanding advantages are worth considering, helping to save construction time and are environmentally friendly.
However, to be able to apply it widely in Vietnam, it is necessary to conduct pilot and evaluation, from which to develop standards, technical processes, economic and technical norms, etc.
"We propose that Terra Pave have a contact point in Vietnam to continue to exchange and work with agencies and units of the Ministry of Transport to realize cooperation. The Ministry of Transport will support and create maximum conditions," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam.
