The "red phoenix flower" train consists of 20 new carriages with luxurious design, including 2 VIP carriages, providing a high-class experience for tourists on the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Duong Duc Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong - said the luxury train is expected to open before May 13 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong City Liberation Day.
The highlight of this train is two VIP cars equipped with 16 sofas, 5 sets of 20-seat sofas arranged in three different spaces.
VIP cars are designed with luxurious interiors, natural wood floors, free WiFi, along with a bar and live musicians.
The interior is designed in Indochine style combined with modern lines and traditional Asian colors.
The remaining carriages have 56 seats that can rotate 180 degrees for passengers to conveniently choose a viewing position along the journey, with a plastic carpeted floor.
On the outside, the train is designed with the main color tones: blue - red, with the logo "red phoenix flower".
Mr. Hung said that putting the luxury train into operation will help the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route no longer be a mere passenger transport route but become a railway tourist route. It has the potential to become the most vibrant railway tourist route in the country.
The toilet is also an area that receives attention when designing, bringing the most comfortable experience to visitors during the journey.
Tourists will experience unique culture, art and cuisine right on the train; conveniently connecting to destinations.
For the foodtour experience, visitors not only get to enjoy famous foodtour products right on the train, but will also continue to have a smooth journey participating in the foodtour when getting off at Hai Phong station.
In particular, tourists using cruise tickets will receive discounts when using dining, shopping, and resting services during the Hai Phong foodtour.
In the coming time, Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to develop railway tourism products combined with food tours.
In addition to the food tour program to experience the city's famous street foods, the premium food tour product will help visitors experience the diverse cuisine of the port city.
Next May, the Hai Phong Food Festival 2025 will be held from May 9 to 14 at Hai Phong Station with 40 food stalls. The event promises to attract tourists to the city of red phoenix flowers this summer.
According to statistics in 2024, the number of passengers traveling by train from Hanoi to Hai Phong will continue to grow, reaching more than 1.5 million passengers.
