(HNMO) – On June 10, continuing the working program in Vietnam at the invitation of Politburo member, Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung, First Secretary of Havana Party Committee (Cuba) Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar and the high-ranking delegation of Havana Party Committee visited the mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, showing respect to the great leader of the Vietnamese people.
Accompanying the delegation was Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen.
Colonel Nguyen Hoang An, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command, on behalf of the unit's leadership, welcomed the delegation.
Speaking to the Mausoleum Protection Command, the First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee affirmed the honor of visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, a sacred place not only for the Vietnamese people, but for all revolutionaries around the world.
Quoting General Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee, affirmed: “It is truly a source of pride for the Party, government, and people of Havana to visit the capital Hanoi, especially the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a sacred place not only for the Vietnamese people, but also for all revolutionaries around the world.”
First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar said that the remarkable development of Vietnam that he witnessed during his visit showed that the sacrifices and struggles of President Ho Chi Minh and the revolutionary soldiers were not in vain. He affirmed that the generations of Cuban people today are still willing to sacrifice their blood for their Vietnamese brothers. “Let us believe in the friendship between Vietnam and Cuba!”, the First Secretary of the Havana City Party Committee stated.
After visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the delegation offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Heroic Martyrs Monument on Bac Son Street.
