Wednesday, August 16, 2023 15:37 (GMT+7)TTH.VN - On the morning of August 16, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) held a conference to collect opinions on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union. Attending the conference were the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the grassroots-level Trade Unions in the whole province.
At the conference, representatives of units focused on giving opinions on issues such as: Scope, subjects, conditions, order, and procedures for joining the Vietnam Trade Union; rights of union members, the right to temporarily suspend activities and pay union dues when temporarily unemployed; the right to be exempted from union dues for union members in especially difficult circumstances; the right to continue union membership without having to re-admit for union members who are entitled to pension benefits but continue to work under contract; conditions for establishing grassroots unions, especially regulations on joining the Vietnam Trade Union of workers' organizations at enterprises.
On that basis, the majority of opinions believe that the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union needs to meet the requirements of the new situation; the revised content needs to be close to the activities of the Trade Union. The subjects of admission and development of union members need to be expanded, the admission procedures need to be simpler...
On this occasion, the conference also sought opinions on amending and supplementing the draft guidelines for scoring and classifying trade unions at the grassroots level.
