On August 17, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, said that the unit had just held a meeting to review all work to prepare for the organization of the Dien Hue Nam Festival in the seventh lunar month of 2023.
The Hue Nam Temple Festival (or Hon Chen Temple Festival) is known as a traditional activity with spiritual cultural elements worshiping the Holy Mother Thien YA Na, held in the 3rd and 7th lunar months every year. The activity is considered colorful and vibrant, attracting a large number of followers of the Mother Goddess worship with tens of thousands of people attending. This is also considered a typical folk and community cultural festival of the ancient capital.
Up to now, there have been more than 80 certificates, decrees and boats registered to attend the festival. At the festival, there will be activities such as: The Welcome Ceremony from 352 Chi Lang to move to Hue Nam Palace, the Welcome Ceremony from the dragon boat to Hue Nam Palace, the Opening Ceremony - Announcement Ceremony on August 23; the Main Ceremony and praying for national peace and security, the Pilgrimage Ceremony of fellow Buddhists, the Welcome of the Holy Mother and the Four Palaces Council to attend the ceremony at Hai Cat Village Temple. Festival activities at Hai Cat Village Temple area on August 24; the Main Ceremony at Hai Cat Village Temple, returning to Hue Nam Palace, the Thanksgiving Ceremony and the Closing Ceremony at Hue Nam Palace on August 25.
The Hue Nam Temple Festival in the 7th lunar month is one of the activities of the Autumn Festival, within the framework of the Hue Festival 2023. The festival takes place to contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values and heritage associated with the relic. At the same time, it meets the spiritual needs of the community practicing the worship of the Three Palaces - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO.
The Organizing Committee has requested relevant units to organize the festival with appropriate scale and content, ensuring solemnity, practicality and effectiveness. Ceremonial activities must be organized in accordance with the nature and historical and cultural significance. Implement measures to protect relics and scenic spots; ensure security, order, social safety, fire prevention, traffic safety and environmental sanitation during the festival.
