According to Reuters, on March 17, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said an old phone and her email were hacked .
According to a VNA reporter in Mexico, speaking at a press conference the same day, President Sheinbaum said the smartphone that was hacked did not use the phone number she was using, but had the old phone number she had used since 2008.
In addition, the Mexican president said that while participating in a social activity in 2008, former senator Layda Sansores gave her this phone number and was responsible for paying the bill (postpaid) because at that time she was using a prepaid package and often ran out of money in her account.
She used this phone number while serving as mayor of the Tlalpan district in Mexico City, and she provided the number to local residents to receive complaints. This is also the reason why the number has spread widely on social media.
Not only the phone number, a personal email of the female president was also hacked, luckily this is an old email.
During her daily press briefings, Ms. Sheinbaum has also warned about cyber attacks and urged people to be cautious about such attacks.
Immediately after receiving the notification of a hacker attack from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, the information security agency immediately took action and successfully neutralized the attack.
