The city's rich history, from the first settlers who opened up the land, to the process of forming a liberal, dynamic, and chivalrous personality... is expressed through the Southern Downstream opera, which uses reformed opera and amateur music as the main materials to convey the message.

Historical milestones marking the resistance war for national independence are also recreated, from the victory of the general uprising in the fall of August 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu in 1954 to the Great Victory in the spring of 1975.

Once again the achievements of the Party and people of Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh are remembered.

The songs Tien ve Sai Gon and Dat nuoc ton niu vui with cheerful melodies, proudly received enthusiastic cheers from the audience, closing the pages of fierce but heroic history.
