Community tourism and tourist attractions are one of the six product groups under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program mentioned in Decision No. 490/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. This is considered a product group of Hanoi with great potential.

In the city, there are many traditional craft villages and attractive destinations in rural areas that can develop community tourism and tourist attractions. Each destination and craft village has its own unique gift products, with quality that is known and highly appreciated by consumers.

Objects that demonstrate visitors' discoveries and experiences

According to statistics, up to now (August 2024), Hanoi currently has more than 2,700 OCOP products from 3 to 5 stars; in which, many products belong to the culinary and souvenir industries...

Many districts in Hanoi have introduced OCOP products into tourism activities and in many places, OCOP products are the physical evidence of tourists' discoveries and experiences, and stories in each region.

Some popular destinations include: Van Phuc Village (Ha Dong District) with silk weaving products; Bat Trang Village (Gia Lam District) with ceramic products; Dao Thuc Village (Dong Anh District) with traditional water puppetry art; Duong Lam Ancient Village (Son Tay Town) with ancient houses preserved through many generations, specialties of Mia chicken, Phu Nhi rice cakes or Hong Van Village (Thuong Tin District) with herbal tea products and sightseeing tours to historical sites...

Hanoi also has two tourism products certified with 4-star OCOP: Green Park Phu Dong Eco-tourism Area (Phu Dong Commune) and Hong Van Rural Tourism Site (Hong Van Commune, Thuong Tin District).

Coming to Tay Ho - one of the typical examples of tourism development associated with OCOP products - visitors can enjoy traditional cakes typical of the district such as baked cakes, sticky rice cakes, spring rolls, green rice cakes... Tay Ho lotus tea and Phu Thuong sticky rice are also OCOP products loved by tourists and "added to their backpacks" to take everywhere.

Currently, in Tay Ho district, there are more than 40 OCOP products evaluated and recognized by Hanoi City. What is special is that most of these products are put into exploitation in tourism activities.

Another typical example is Bat Trang village (Gia Lam). With the potential of a traditional craft village that has existed and developed continuously for hundreds of years, Bat Trang pottery village is increasingly developing in production, business and tourism.

Ceramic products, ceramic kilns, even the entire ancient architectural space or people in Bat Trang village have all become part of Bat Trang tours.

At the traditional museum in Bat Trang, visitors have direct contact with the people who create the artifacts, create the value of the craft village and learn directly about their daily life, as well as their culture.

Continue to link tourism development with OCOP products

Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of Office of the Hanoi New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, said that each OCOP product is a "cultural ambassador" and "tourism ambassador" of a specific locality, representing the traditions, customs, and living habits of the people.
