Reporter: As a young delegate of the 15th National Assembly, can you share your thoughts and feelings when attending the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians as well as the "Vietnam Aspiration" Exhibition within the framework of this Conference?
Delegate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Binh Duong Province: This is the first time the Vietnamese National Assembly has hosted the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians. As a young Vietnamese National Assembly delegate, I am very impressed and proud to attend the "Vietnam Aspirations" Exhibition within the framework of this Conference. Because this is an opportunity for myself and the delegates to meet and learn from experiences, share very useful information from the Conference's theme "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation".
This is also a great opportunity, a useful bridge for young parliamentarians to exchange experiences on digital transformation, flexible adaptation solutions after the pandemic and market fluctuations, thereby proposing strategies to create an environment to mobilize resources for development investment, production and business, creating favorable conditions in terms of institutions, environment, and infrastructure for people and businesses to invest and develop.
Through this Conference, I, as well as many young National Assembly delegates, hope that we will learn and accumulate more knowledge and information about parliaments of other countries, young parliamentarians of other countries as well as young people of other countries participating and contributing their roles and voices in legislative work, in creating and applying new achievements in all fields to create sustainable values for today's and tomorrow's generations and for the world in the development process.
Reporter: Within the framework of the Conference, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with relevant ministries and branches to organize an Exhibition with the theme "Vietnam's Aspiration". Through this Conference and Exhibition, how do delegates evaluate the theme of the Conference and how the Exhibition has demonstrated this theme?
Delegate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong Province: From the theme of the Conference "The role of young people in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation", I see that the discussion topics are very rich and diverse, focusing on 3 main topics: The first topic discusses digital transformation; The second topic is about innovation and startups; The third topic focuses on the role of parliaments and young parliamentarians in promoting respect for cultural diversity in the context of technological transformation and globalization.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Duarte Pacheco and delegates visited the exhibition area of innovative products; new technology products, high-tech equipment at the "Vietnam Aspiration" Exhibition.
And the “Vietnam Aspirations” Exhibition held within the framework of this Conference is an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to introduce the Party’s guidelines and policies, the State’s policies and laws, the country’s innovation processes, and at the same time promote Vietnamese culture and people to international friends. I think this is the purpose of this Exhibition. Along with that, we can exchange and share new ways of doing things, new methods to apply digital transformation technology in each field: economy, culture, education, health, etc.
The young parliamentarians' proposal is to have more open data courses for global youth, and cooperation between countries around the world to move towards the goal of "leaving no one behind".
I find this a very valuable and practical conference in the current global context of challenges and opportunities, and the economic crisis after the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, only by “standing on the shoulders of giants”, especially applying new technologies in production and learning, can we create sustainable material and spiritual wealth for the whole society.
Reporter: Directly attending the "Vietnam Aspiration" Exhibition, what comments and shares did delegates have when visiting the product display areas here?
Delegate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong Province: When visiting the Exhibition, I was impressed with the area displaying new experiences on a technology platform to serve production, consumption, and civil servants... For example, virtual assistants for the judiciary or past, present and future planning maps - very smart and modern integration, with many benefits for users. It can be said that smart technology helps life and creates sustainable development.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Duarte Pacheco and delegates visited the OCOP product display area at the Exhibition.
For OCOP booths, I see diverse products, spread across regions, from Ha Giang to Phu Quoc, Kien Giang... Visiting those products, I see that these products are both beneficial for health and have value, with clear geographical indications.
I hope that at global forums, regional forums or domestic and international conferences, we can introduce Vietnamese products to connect, trade, and promote our country's agricultural products and specialties to the world market.
Therefore, I find this Exhibition very valuable, rich and diverse. We can replicate this model not only at the Global Young Parliamentarians Conference but also at other global conferences in various fields. Because our country is very strong in agricultural products, rice and with new technologies, we can learn and pioneer in this field. Through that, we can organize an Exhibition to introduce and promote our intellectual property rights, spread to the world, use technology and create greater value for Vietnamese products, especially agricultural products.
