The Vietnamese National Assembly's hosting of the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference is a practical activity to implement the guidelines of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 34-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Some major orientations and policies to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress", Directive No. 25-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the 12th Party Central Committee on promoting and enhancing multilateral diplomacy until 2030 and the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the 2021-2030 period, contributing to ensuring a peaceful and stable international and regional environment, serving the goal of developing and protecting the Fatherland. The conference is also an opportunity to affirm the role of young Vietnamese parliamentarians who are dynamic and creative, and have made many positive contributions to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
On the afternoon of September 12, 2023, at the National Assembly House, the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians held an international press conference on the Program of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.
Sharing with the National Assembly Electronic Information Portal, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Central Party Agencies, emphasized that in recent times, our Party and State have paid special attention to the youth; taking care of education, training, and nurturing the youth to become worthy successors to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. The youth have become both red and professional in the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Reporter: From September 14-17, the Vietnamese National Assembly will host the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference. This is one of the important events of the Vietnamese National Assembly in 2023, aiming to implement the guidelines of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution 34-NQ/TW, Directive 25-CT/TW. Could you please tell us the core ideology in the Party's foreign policy at the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution 34-NQ/TW, Directive 25-CT/TW?

Build a comprehensive and modern diplomacy with three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and People's diplomacy.
Promote bilateral diplomacy and raise the level of multilateral diplomacy. Proactively and actively integrate internationally, properly resolve the relationship between independence, autonomy and international integration; promote comprehensive, extensive, flexible and effective international integration for the benefit of the nation and people, ensuring independence, autonomy and national sovereignty.

The Party's 13th Congress documents clearly affirm: "Strengthen the education of the young generation on revolutionary ideals, ethics, cultural lifestyle, enhance patriotism, national pride, nurture dreams, ambitions, aspirations to rise up; promote the sense of responsibility towards the country and society; build an environment, conditions for studying, working, entertaining, training to develop healthily, comprehensively, harmoniously in terms of intelligence, physical strength and aesthetic values. Create motivation for young people to be proactive in studying, working creatively, starting a business, establishing a career; master modern scientific and technological knowledge, promoting an important role in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland."
Reporter : The general theme of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians is “The role of youth in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation”. What are your expectations for the results of the Conference, promoting the interest and participation of Vietnamese youth in general and young parliamentarians of the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular in solving current global issues?
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Science Council of the Central Party Agencies: I believe that the role and strength of youth is to be proactive and take the lead in all areas of social life, especially in the field of science and technology, especially the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference with the general theme of "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation", I expect the Conference to have good results and great success. The Conference will promote the interest and participation of Vietnamese youth in general and young parliamentarians of the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular in solving current global issues.
Vietnam's hosting of this Conference contributes to affirming Vietnam's active, responsible and proactive participation in the IPU - the world's largest inter-parliamentary organization; at the same time, it shows Vietnam's attention and concern for youth, and the current global issues of youth.
The conference contributes to promoting Vietnam's interests through the parliamentary channel, meeting development requirements and trends in the new period, including digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable development. The conference is also a good opportunity for us to widely promote and publicize to international friends about Vietnam's cultural traditions, country, people, foreign policy, and achievements in socio-economic development.
This is an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic relations between Vietnam and many important partners, especially parliamentarians and young leaders of countries; and to seek the support of the IPU and member parliaments for the cause of national construction, protection and development.
