Congress of Vietnam Association of Photographers in Can Tho City

(NADS) - On the morning of December 15, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Can Tho City held a Congress for the 2024-2029 term. On the same day, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Can Tho City held the opening ceremony of the art photo exhibition "Can Tho homeland on the path of innovation, development and integration".

Attending and directing the Congress was Artist Duy Bang, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in charge of the Mekong Delta region.

Can Tho City Branch currently has 11 NSNA, in the term 2019-2024, with the attention, direction and facilitation of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Committee, Propaganda Department of Can Tho City; coordination and direct support of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Can Tho City, Can Tho City Photography and Arts Association; awareness of strictly complying with the Charter, Regulations, and Rules of the Association, and enthusiasm in participating in the Association's activities.

The Executive Committee of the Branch manages members and operates activities in accordance with the Branch's principles, purposes, functions and tasks; ensuring solidarity and unity. The team of members is steadfast in viewpoints, ideology, political awareness and professional expertise. Since then, the Branch has been strengthened and improved, helping to perform its functions and tasks well in the past term.

The congress voted to elect the Executive Committee for the new term.

Regarding the results of photography activities, Can Tho City Association has achieved many remarkable achievements such as: 01 Silver Medal, 02 Bronze Medals, 03 Encouragement Prizes and 16 exhibition works, 02 B prizes to support composition at national competitions; 01 Silver Medal, 05 Bronze Medals, 08 Encouragement Prizes and 39 exhibition works, 01 Third Prize for Team and First Prize for Marathon, Third Prize for Tourism at the Mekong Delta Regional Festival and equivalent; 05 A prizes, 06 B prizes, 04 C prizes, 02 First prizes, 11 Second prizes, 07 Third prizes, 21 KK, 756 exhibition works (including 490 single and series of photos by NSNA Van Ngoc Nhuan exhibited in Soc Trang) at competitions organized by Can Tho City; 01 Special Prize, 05 Gold Medals, 05 Silver Medals, 01 Bronze Medal, 02 Badges, 29 Certificates of Honor and 336 works exhibited at international competitions. In addition, the Association also organized an exhibition of 76 Artistic Photography works by 11 artists with the theme "Can Tho Homeland on the Road of Innovation, Development and Integration" - sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Artists and classified as Type A for consideration of support for creation in 2024.

Orienting activities for the 2024 - 2029 term, Can Tho City Branch advocates promoting movement activities and creative activities to have works participating in competitions inside and outside Can Tho City, organizing at least 1 exchange and creative trip with mobilized or socialized funding. In addition, the Branch also sets out directions for organizing and developing members, promoting support and professional assistance for local members, especially potential members to create a source of admission to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to strive in 2025 and the new term to have at least 01 local member admitted to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (A.VAPA); and 01 member awarded the title E.FIAP.

The Executive Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term was introduced to the Congress.

Delegates attending the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts introduced themselves to the Congress.

The Association Congress elected an Executive Committee of 03 delegates. Artist Do Thien Thanh Tung was re-elected as the Association President. The two Vice Presidents were Artist Nguyen Trung Kien and Artist Luong Nguyen Thien Chuong. The Association Congress also elected a Delegation of 05 delegates to attend the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

On the same day, the art photo exhibition "Can Tho homeland on the path of innovation, development and integration" took place at the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Can Tho City, No. 170, Ly Tu Trong Street, Thoi Binh Ward, Ninh Kieu District.

Delegates cut the ribbon to open the art photo exhibition "Can Tho homeland on the path of innovation, development and integration".

The exhibition introduces 76 works by Vietnamese photographers in Can Tho City. These are works that have been exhibited and won awards at city-level, regional, national and international photography festivals and competitions in recent times. The photo content shows the beauty, development, innovation and cultural identity of Can Tho. The exhibition is sponsored and supported by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in 2024, ranked A.
