Da Nang receives community-based project to enhance access to education for students with disabilities

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just approved the project to enhance community-based access to education for students with disabilities in Central Vietnam for the period 2023-2025.

The project is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through Medipeace Organization, and will be implemented until December 2025 with the goal of building capacity to improve the quality of education suitable for students with disabilities; improve the inclusive education environment for students with disabilities in the community.

Thereby, improving the capacity of teachers in special education for children with disabilities (developmental delays); improving the educational environment; conducting inclusive education for students with disabilities (developmental delays) and raising awareness, increasing the participation of the community and families of students with disabilities (developmental delays).

With a total capital of nearly 9.9 billion VND equivalent to 415,414 USD, the program is directly managed and implemented by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through Medipeace Organization at Tuong Lai Specialized School; Da Nang Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education; 10 primary schools with disabled students studying inclusive education in Da Nang City.

The City People's Committee requests that the Project Participants comply with State regulations, proactively report on the contents of activities, time, location or other related issues so that the City Police can coordinate to grasp the situation, serving the State management of foreign non-governmental organizations.

The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with relevant units to carry out procedures to receive and implement the project for the right purpose.
