Timely rescue of 5 sailors whose ship sank at sea in Ca Mau

On June 22, according to a source from Giao Thong Newspaper, the Border Guard Command of Ca Mau province has just rescued 5 crew members on fishing boat CM-92473 TS that was sunk by waves.

Initial information, fishing boat CM-92473 TS with 5 crew members, captained by Mr. Do Khanh Hung (52 years old, residing in Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province), working as a buyer, departed through Song Doc estuary at 4:00 a.m. on June 12.

While at sea, the fishing boat was sunk by waves at coordinates 09007'00''N - 104030'00''E (about 19 nautical miles northwest of Song Doc estuary) at 18:30 on June 14.

Upon receiving the news, the border guards of Ca Mau province directed border posts to use the communication system to notify and call on fishing boats operating nearby to support and participate in the search and rescue.

At around 8pm the same day, the border guards approached and rescued 5 crew members and brought them safely onto the ship. Currently, the health of the crew members is stable.
