(Dan Tri) - My Anh is the only valedictorian in the history of the International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) in the combined admission method. 4 years later, she continues to be the valedictorian...
Huynh Thi My Anh, from the Faculty of Economics, Finance and Accounting, was one of the students with high achievements honored at the graduation ceremony of the International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) held on November 23-24. Four years ago, My Anh was the valedictorian of the school in the admission method using a combination of high school graduation exam scores and academic records. Now, she has repeated the feat by becoming the valedictorian with a score of 92.8/100. Huynh Thi My Anh, the girl who was the valedictorian and also the valedictorian (Photo: Hoai Nam). In particular, My Anh is considered the "unique" valedictorian in the history of the school. In 2020, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, for the first and only time so far, the International University used the admission method combining graduation exam scores and academic records - the method that My Anh was admitted to. Sharing at the graduation ceremony, My Anh recalled unforgettable memories in her life about the terrible impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the birth of a new teaching method. "The worst thing is that... our first Tet holiday turned out to be the longest holiday ever, because we suddenly switched to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was really difficult at first, not only for us, the students, but also for the teachers. Surely we all remember that time, when someone forgot to turn off the microphone and everyone heard the unexpected sound of the neighbor's karaoke or the dog barking during class. But we overcame those difficult moments, gradually returning to school to continue completing what we had started." As a former student of Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, Dong Nai, throughout her high school years, My Anh always achieved good academic results and many academic awards in English. However, My Anh said that in her first year of university, she also faced many difficulties and confusion when changing the environment and way of studying. After regaining her balance, Anh was able to really get into the rhythm of studying in the lecture hall. In high school, teachers follow students closely, and friends study together for a long time. In college, teachers do not check lessons as often as in high school, and each student has their own schedule for each subject. Therefore, according to My Anh, the most important thing is the student's own efforts. Each person must be more proactive, study more by themselves, work harder, and be more responsible for their studies. When encountering difficult subjects or content that they do not understand, the first thing the girl does is find books to read, research documents, or discuss with the lecturer. Studying in groups and working in groups with her is also a very good way to learn so that she can understand the lesson faster and grasp the knowledge more firmly. According to information from the International University, with the top score in the entrance exam, My Anh is a student who is awarded a full scholarship throughout the course. However, very few students can maintain good academic results for 4 years to meet the conditions for receiving a full scholarship. In the past 10 years, My Anh is one of two students who have maintained good academic results throughout her studies to maintain her full scholarship. My Anh is also one of the outstanding students selected by the school to receive scholarships to participate in student exchange courses in European countries and Singapore throughout her 4 years of study. This time, the International University held a graduation ceremony and awarded degrees to 1,234 students, 66 trainees and 3 postgraduates. The whole school had 22 excellent graduates, 412 excellent graduates. Some other faces honored at the graduation ceremony include Luu Nguyen Minh Thu, a new engineer in logistics and supply chain management, who was the valedictorian of the engineering major with a score of 93.8/100; New master Chung Minh Nhat, who graduated as the valedictorian of the postgraduate engineering major with a score of 93.2/100. Chung Minh Nhat is one of the 8 young talents of Ho Chi Minh City in 2020 in the field of "Study and scientific research". Nhat and his teammates also won the Bronze Medal in the International Student Programming Contest ICPC Asia Danang 2019. Minh Nhat also received a scientific research award with two articles published in prestigious international journals of category 1 and in group Q1 of the SCImago list, two full-text articles published in the proceedings of international scientific conferences with peer review and ISBN. Of which, one article is the main author and three are co-authors.
