Sharing with Giao Thong Newspaper, she also did not hesitate to mention the prejudice of "long legs - rich men".
“I have no regrets”
Miss Tieu Vy
It's been 5 years since that Miss Vietnam contest. Do you feel time passes quickly?
Yes, 5 years! I'm surprised myself! Because I've come quite a long way, and I've never set a limit on how far I've come, am going, and will go.
There is no shortage of happiness and maturity, but there are also many stumbles, naivety and immaturity. I just keep picking up every day.
I believe that everything I have experienced over the past 5 years are valuable lessons that few girls in their 18s and 20s get to experience like me.
That is why, “gratitude” are two words I always remember every day when looking back at those meaningful years.
At the age of 18, you were already honored as a beauty icon. Looking back now, have you ever calculated what you have gained and lost?
With the noble title of Miss, I have the opportunity to be known, loved and supported by many people. Thanks to this title, I have been able to travel to many places, meet many people, many different fates, rich, poor, etc.
My perspective on life has also changed a lot, more open, tolerant and giving. I know how to think more before each choice I make, know how to think and orient myself long term.
Therefore, I feel that I have gained more than I have lost, I even feel that I have lost nothing in this prestigious journey. I also do not feel any regret. I have gone on that journey, I have succeeded, I have failed and I have stood up, the current task is to continue on in a brilliant way.
No fear of losing image as an actor

Is being an actress a long-term direction in your artistic career?
I also ignited the passion for acting before receiving invitations to participate in movies. After working together in music videos of famous artists, my crew and I also realized that we had the qualities to act, along with many invitations from directors and film producers.
But it was not until the movie "Jackpot Island" and the web series "Delivery Chairman" that I was able to get involved with acting.
I got to experience the profession and understand how difficult it is to produce a film. Thanks to those experiences, I know that I also love this job, which emphasizes the collective spirit and helps me live in many different lives.
Being a beauty queen is famous, you can dress beautifully, appear gorgeous, but why do you want to try acting?
Every job has its own hardships, any comparison is always lame. Being an actor is an unforgettable and difficult experience.
With the movie “Jackpot Island”, I was both nervous and excited to experience the action scenes, climbing on cliffs, and filming all night long on the island.
During many months of filming, my skin was dark, my face was covered in acne, and my arms and legs were bruised. It is true that being an actor is very hard work, but only by participating directly can you feel it.
In the future, I will continue to study, listen and improve my acting skills. I am not afraid to appear in many roles, even if they are bad characters or have an imperfect appearance. I am not afraid of being ugly or pressured to maintain my image.
Because she is afraid of being considered bland, Vy still diligently participates in game shows to renew herself, or is she also afraid of being forgotten?
Each person is an individual, each has a separate personality, I also have my own identity so I certainly cannot be confused with anyone else.
I think the lackluster comments are because they haven't followed the entire journey I've been doing over the past 5 years: charity activities, being chosen as the vedette, representing brands, acting in music videos, movies...
I am very active because I don't want to be one-dimensional, stuck with one model. Therefore, when they say Tieu Vy is bland, it means they don't care.
Do you feel sad when you are misunderstood after all those tireless efforts?
No, I feel normal. At least, I made people remember me as boring (laughs).
Afraid of parents scolding for early love
The everyday beauty of Miss Tieu Vy
What role has family played throughout your journey?
My family is my spiritual support, no matter when I am happy or sad. Especially my mother has always been there to congratulate and encourage me. Before becoming a beauty queen, I had to leave home, go to Ho Chi Minh City to study high school, so I often felt sad and missed home and my mother.
Later, when I became a beauty queen, my schedule became more and more hectic, so I rarely got to visit home often and could only video call to talk about my daily life. Whenever I encountered a crisis, my mother often confided in me and advised me not to think too much, but I knew that she worried a lot about me. I lived far away from my mother, so sometimes I felt very sad.
Where is your boyfriend after all the glory and pressure of being a beauty queen?
Having a halo also means that more people are interested in my life. There are many questions about my private feelings, but I feel that this is not the right time to think about this.
Tieu Vy never loved?
I was in love when I was still a student in Hoi An, but I thought it was just a student crush. I liked it because people often gave me food. But that was all, my family was poor, falling in love early would make my parents suffer.
I was afraid of my parents scolding me, I believed everything they said. One day, I received a letter from someone who liked me, my parents saw it and threatened to beat me.
Right now, I still have many unfinished plans that need to be prioritized, so I'll just leave love to fate (laughs).
If given the choice, do you think only rich people are suitable for beauty queens?
No! I just believe that if it's compatible, then love, if it's not, then forget it. I don't think about forcing myself to love someone who is worthy of me.
Of course I have my own standards. He must be tall, handsome, just good enough. I tend to be spoiled, so my boyfriend must be someone who knows how to take care of me and pamper me. In love, I am a bit difficult, capricious and a bit hateful.
I understand, the stereotype of “long legs - rich men” has been mentioned by many people for a long time. But, I always believe in the saying “like clouds will meet like clouds”.
If we look positively at the word “rich”, they are very good people. They have tried very hard, so their life partner must also be worthy to be able to share joys and sorrows together.
Beauty queens or any beautiful girl are the same. I believe that Vietnamese women are not only beautiful but also talented, independent and extremely radiant. When we possess those factors, we have every right to demand an excellent life partner.
Thanks!
