Initially, the restaurant chain representative said they could not immediately determine the time and location of the incident. It was not until March 6 that the unit said that this was a facility in the center of Shanghai, affirming: "We completely understand the feelings of customers when witnessing this scene."

According to the restaurant chain's announcement, 4,109 customers who visited the establishment in central Shanghai from February 24 to March 8 will receive a full refund of their meals, in addition to receiving compensation of 10 times the amount of their bill.

Although they did not disclose the specific amount they would have to pay to resolve the incident, the restaurant chain's actions somewhat reassured customers and demonstrated a sense of responsibility towards the community.

After investigating and coordinating with the restaurant, Huangpu District Police (Shanghai) said they had administratively detained two 17-year-old male youths on March 8.

Initial investigation results show that Tang and Wu went to the above facility on February 24 and ate hot pot in a private room with others. After getting drunk, both stood on the dining table and urinated in the hot pot. Wu then posted a video recording of the incident online.

The restaurant said it has completed legal procedures to file a lawsuit against Tang and Wu, to ensure that the troublemakers will be strictly dealt with according to the law, and to deter similar cases in the future.
