The conference was held directly at the Hanoi People's Committee Hall and connected online to 18 points in districts and towns with the participation of leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, leaders of the City People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches, and unions of the city; Farmers' Associations at all levels; delegates are good farmers, farm owners, cooperatives, and enterprises in the agricultural sector.
The conference is a direct forum for the Chairman of the City People's Committee and leaders of departments and branches to discuss with farmers about policies and orientations for agricultural and rural development. Thereby, the city continues to direct the development of mechanisms and the most favorable conditions for farmers to participate in socio-economic development; especially in the process of restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy, improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.
The representative of the organizing committee said that, as of the afternoon of November 28, the organizing committee had received and compiled 35 opinions in 6 groups of issues, which are proposals, recommendations, and concerns sent to the Chairman of the City People's Committee. The proposals and recommendations show the farmers' interest and expectation for the City in policies to make the Capital a leading locality in developing ecological agriculture, modern countryside, and civilized farmers. In particular, at the conference, it is expected that 12 typical farmers will directly ask questions and have a dialogue with the Chairman of the City People's Committee.
On the basis of dialogue, the Chairman of the City People's Committee will direct the timely removal of difficulties and obstacles so that farmers can feel secure in investing in production and business; review and evaluate the results of implementing issued mechanisms and policies, promptly adjust and supplement them to help farmers and collective economic organizations and enterprises have conditions to access and effectively absorb support resources from the policies of the State and the City.
According to the organizers, through many dialogues between the city leaders and farmers, the existing problems, difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings in implementing policies on agricultural, farmer and rural development have been focused on by the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee and local Party committees and authorities. Thereby, creating changes in the capital's agriculture, farmers and rural areas, which are supported by farmers.
