Chinese President Xi Jinping's New Year message highlighted the country's many important achievements over the past year, affirming complete confidence in the future.

On the evening of December 31 (local time), in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping began sending out New Year messages via television and the internet to welcome 2024.

In his New Year's message, Chinese President Xi Jinping assessed that 2023 saw the Chinese economy weather the storm and become "more resilient and dynamic than before".

"We will remember this year as a year of diligence and resilience. Moving forward, we have full confidence in the future," Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed.

The Chinese leader affirmed that in the context of China achieving positive changes in its efforts to respond to the Covid-19 epidemic, the country's economy has maintained its recovery momentum and achieved steady progress in 2023.

President Xi Jinping affirmed that China will deepen reform and opening up on a large scale.

China's industry has been further upgraded, and a number of green, smart and advanced sectors are rapidly emerging as new pillars of the economy, according to President Xi Jinping.

The Chinese president also announced that the country has achieved a bumper harvest for the 20th consecutive year and made new progress in rural reconstruction.

The Chinese president stressed that China's ultimate goal is to bring a better life to its people.

"Children need to be well cared for and receive a good education. Young people need to have the opportunity to pursue their careers and succeed. And the elderly need to have full access to medical services and geriatric care," Xi said.

President Xi Jinping affirmed that China will work with the international community to build a community with a shared future. He also pointed out that conflicts are still ongoing in some parts of the world.

"We will work closely with the international community for the common good of mankind, build a community with a shared future for mankind and make the world a better place for all," Xi Jinping stressed.
