On behalf of Vietnamese representative agencies in the United States, reporting to the President, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung said that the representative agencies have effective coordination mechanisms, regularly holding meetings on both Party work and professional tasks.
The agencies also actively carry out common tasks: promoting political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, citizen protection, etc., contributing to mobilizing resources for the country's socio-economic development and enhancing the position and prestige of Vietnam.
In particular, with a focus on economic diplomacy for development, representative agencies have made every effort to connect with partners in the United States and Vietnamese businesses and localities.

Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung also shared that over the past time, the Vietnam-US friendship has been increasingly developing well, most recently the two sides have established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; along with that, Vietnam's prestige has been raised when it successfully assumed the role of a non-permanent member of the Security Council and many other responsibilities of the United Nations. That has created favorable conditions for representative agencies to carry out their assigned tasks.
In particular, 2023 is the year when Vietnam and the United States have many vibrant bilateral foreign affairs activities, both at the high and ministerial levels, in which Vietnamese representative agencies in the United States have also made efforts to participate in preparing well for these important foreign affairs activities.
The agencies also perform well in their duty of protecting citizens. Currently, the United States has about 30,000 Vietnamese students studying there, ranking 5th in the world and 1st in Southeast Asia. Many American businesses are interested in Vietnam and most of the large American businesses and corporations have a presence in Vietnam.
Reporting on the activities of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, Ambassador, Head of the Mission Dang Hoang Giang; Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco Hoang Anh Tuan and Consul General of Vietnam in Houston Nguyen Trac Ba said that all staff of the agency were united, overcame difficulties to successfully complete multilateral diplomatic tasks according to the foreign policy and guidelines of the Party and State, contributing to enhancing the role and prestige of Vietnam in the common mechanisms of the United Nations, participating responsibly in solving global issues on the basis of respecting international law.

Speaking at the meeting, President Vo Van Thuong was pleased to meet with officials and staff of Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies in the United States.
Emphasizing the Party and State's foreign policy of diversification and multilateralization, the President said that in recent times, Vietnam's foreign affairs activities have been very vibrant, positive and effective, enhancing Vietnam's role, position and prestige in the international arena.
The President highly appreciated the contribution of the diplomatic sector to that great achievement, including the Vietnamese diplomatic representative agencies in the United States. In recent times, despite many difficulties, the representative agencies have made efforts to promote bilateral relations in many fields, especially contributing to good preparation for upgrading the Vietnam-US relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership; participating in good preparation for the APEC program of the President and ministries, branches and localities.
President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the connection between businesses and localities contributes to realizing high-level commitments and agreements, including the upgrading of Vietnam-US relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, bringing great cooperation opportunities between the two countries in economics, trade, investment, education, science, production, and participation in the supply chain of high-quality goods.
However, from commitment to implementation is a process, so the President hopes that the Embassy and representative agencies of Vietnam in the United States will make efforts to promote the early concretization of cooperation agreements. The President also asked ministries and local agencies to participate in this process.

With the Vietnamese Permanent Delegation to the United Nations, the President suggested that it is necessary to contribute to expanding Vietnam's international relations, strengthening the establishment of cooperative partners, and enhancing Vietnam's international position and prestige.
The Consulates General in Vietnam in San Francisco and Houston promote cooperation between Vietnamese localities and US localities, encouraging overseas Vietnamese to invest in the country.
The President believes that, with the efforts of the entire diplomatic sector, foreign affairs forces in the country and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, foreign affairs will continue to achieve even more resounding successes in the coming time.
