Video: Transporting Tet flowers to earn millions every day, drivers work day and night
At the end of the year, when the spring flower market is bustling, it is also the time when people who transport flowers and ornamental plants for hire start the "race" to earn extra income. The Tet flower transport service is only busy for about 10 days, so drivers try to work day and night to serve the needs of flower lovers.
According to VTC News reporters on February 4, at the largest spring flower market in Da Nang, located in the Tien Son Sports Palace area, the number of visitors and flower buyers was quite busy, so people who carry Tet flowers for hire worked continuously from early morning to serve customers.
According to flower transporters, the weather in Da Nang has been sunny these past few days, so the number of customers buying flowers for Tet is quite high. "I go to the market early in the morning to work because it's sunny today, so customers come to the market earlier. For seasonal workers like me, this is a chance to earn a little extra money," said a flower transporter.
Mr. Cao Le Thanh said that each trip he earns 100,000-170,000 VND, depending on the value of the flowers, ornamental plants and the distance. On some trips when he transports large, expensive plants, he can earn 200,000 VND. "It's only about 10 days, so I take advantage of the time to run from early morning to late at night to earn some extra money to buy Tet for my family," Mr. Thanh shared.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Minh shared that for more than 10 years now, at the end of each year, he goes to the spring flower market to transport ornamental plants and flowers to customers. "If each trip costs an average of 100,000 VND, if he makes about 10 trips a day, he can earn 1 million VND," Mr. Minh said excitedly.
Not only do motorbike drivers work as flower transporters, some transport companies also accept to transport large, expensive ornamental plants for customers.
Even though they can earn millions of dong every day, flower and ornamental plant transporters must be very careful because if they accidentally break or break a tree, they will lose millions in compensation. "You have to be very careful. If you accidentally drop or break a 2 million dong ornamental plant while transporting it, you have to pay the customer for it. It's like working all day for nothing," Long said while tying a peach tree to the truck to transport it to a customer.
People carrying flowers and ornamental plants at the Da Nang spring flower market are always in a "race" to serve customers during the days before Tet. Even though they have to stay up late and wake up early, everyone is excited and tries their best to have a warmer and more fulfilling Tet.
