Spreading volunteer actions to build community happiness
Happiness is simply the joy that each person finds in life, work, family, connection with friends, community, society... Each person's perspective has a different definition of happiness, which is the result "measured" in each moment, a period of effort or after a long journey. International Day of Happiness 2025 has a broad meaning: Personal happiness, family happiness, family happiness, community happiness, career happiness, school happiness, happiness in social activities; achievements in implementing social security, typical advanced models in building a prosperous, progressive, happy family; typical examples of good people, good deeds; real stories, real events, experiences, good models of activities for happiness...
In localities, on the occasion of International Day of Happiness, propaganda work is promoted through images, billboards, and public address systems, introducing typical cultural families; commemorative meetings in communes and towns; activities of sustainable family development clubs; anti-violence groups... Thereby, creating conditions for everyone to look back and adjust their responsibilities towards their families, localities, and units where they reside and work. That is the foundation for building a loving, sharing, civilized, and progressive social community. Many localities prioritize organizing charitable activities, visiting, and helping those in difficult circumstances; honoring organizations and individuals with active activities; organizing cultural - artistic, physical education - sports programs; organizing conferences, seminars, and forums on the topic of happiness.
25 years of building family happiness, the home of Ms. Vo Thi My Hanh (Phu My town, Phu Tan district) is always filled with laughter. Ms. Hanh believes that in life, each family member must be responsible for each other, discussing everything to have a common voice. Happiness comes from small actions to create joy for each other, it can also be understanding to share sadness, encourage each other to try to overcome difficulties. For Be Lai (An Giang Student Union), happiness is the years of youth dedicated to the homeland, helping the poor, multiplying the spirit of charity for the community. At the age of entering adulthood, Ms. Truc Ngoc (Long Xuyen City) believes that happiness is having a stable job, enough to support herself, having time to enjoy small joys, having some achievements in work recognized, contributing to the collective.
Across the country, many events are held in response to the International Day of Happiness to highlight good people and good deeds; activities to build happy families, happy communities, etc., bringing profound meaning in connecting people and spreading throughout society. Through cultural, social and volunteer activities, we can contribute to creating a positive environment full of happiness for ourselves and those around us. In addition to spreading positive human values, the International Day of Happiness also originates from the need for a balanced and reasonable approach to economic growth to promote sustainable development, reduce poverty and strive for happiness and prosperity for all. The concept of happiness sounds abstract but is always present in life, not far away but sometimes very simple and close.
Just 3 years ago, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the greatest happiness for most of us was to be healthy, to live peacefully, and to return to the "new normal" soon. Currently, society is changing in many ways, happiness revolves around the need to have a stable job, have enough income to cover life, have relatives to gather with, find joy in spiritual life to balance after pressures... However, happiness can also be something that is easy to feel, difficult to define in complete words. It is satisfaction with each person's life, what they have, being able to do what they love and liking what they are doing within the framework of the law that does not prohibit it.
Since 2012, the United Nations has chosen March 20 as the International Day of Happiness. Among 193 members, Vietnam has committed to implementing this day through efforts to improve the quality of life, build a fair society, and develop sustainably to bring happiness to the people. March 20 is a special day of the year, when the sun is horizontal to the equator, with equal length of day and night, symbolizing the balance and harmony of the universe. From there, the International Day of Happiness also conveys the message that balance and harmony are one of the keys to happiness. |
