At the conference, leaders of the three provinces: An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau reported on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first months of the year and the directions and solutions for the last months of the year regarding the socio-economic development situation, disbursement of public investment capital, import and export, infrastructure construction, social housing, the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses", national target programs. At the same time, many recommendations were proposed to the Government and central ministries and branches to remove difficulties and obstacles, helping the provinces successfully carry out political tasks in the coming time...
Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang said that in the context of the country's economy continuing to recover and develop strongly, An Giang province has closely followed the direction of the Central Government, focusing on directing and operating socio-economic development, with many synchronous tasks and solutions, striving to achieve the set growth target. This has received the consensus and support of the people and the business community. In particular, absorbing and thoroughly grasping the policy of the Party Central Committee on the Project to supplement socio-economic development in 2025 with the growth target of 8% or more, the An Giang Provincial Party Committee has seriously studied, learned and directed the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee (now the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee) to advise on the development and implementation to achieve the set target.
Initial results show that since the beginning of the year, the province's socio-economic situation has achieved many important results: Firstly, economic growth has remained high, with estimated GRDP in the first quarter of 2025 increasing by 7.2% over the same period in 2024. The manufacturing, trade and service sectors have all made positive progress; disbursement of public investment capital from the beginning of the year to the end of March 2025 was about 645 billion VND, reaching 6.38% of the plan. The fields of health, education, culture and social security continue to be improved; national defense and security are ensured.
An Giang province has seriously implemented the resolutions and policies of the Party and State on streamlining the apparatus, effectiveness and efficiency, and Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. These are considered key factors, the foundation to spread to other fields to accelerate, break through and transform with the whole country in the coming period...

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh praised the efforts of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of An Giang, Dong Thap and Ca Mau provinces in implementing the Government's resolutions. The socio-economic development of the three localities in the first months of 2025 recorded positive developments. Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation has been concretized and actively implemented by localities. The implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the Central Executive Committee (term XII) on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and streamline the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently has been seriously implemented. National programs, disbursement of public investment capital, and site clearance have had positive changes.
However, to achieve the growth target set for 2025 of 8% or more, the three provinces: An Giang, Dong Thap, and Ca Mau must strive, be determined, and be very resolute. In particular, it is necessary to specify the growth scenario for each region; assign responsibilities in monitoring and inspection to promptly remove difficulties in the implementation process. The Deputy Prime Minister requested that localities urgently complete the allocation of public investment capital in March; resolutely and drastically promote the disbursement of public investment capital, especially for key national and provincial projects; considering this an important driving force, contributing to economic growth. At the same time, mobilize social resources to join hands in implementing the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in the spirit of the Prime Minister's direction to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. In addition, promote administrative reform, improve the provincial competitiveness index, create a good investment environment to attract businesses to invest and develop; review and cut administrative procedures, better serve people and businesses.
Regarding the recommendations of the three provinces: An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh assigned the Government Office to synthesize and report recommendations under the Government's authority to the Government. Recommendations under the authority of central ministries and branches need to be promptly responded to in writing to localities.
