Vietnam is one of the world's major centers for the production, processing and export of wooden furniture. The export turnover of wood and wooden products in 2023 is estimated at 13.4 billion USD. Export of wooden products alone is estimated at 9.2 billion USD.
Notably, the export turnover of seats reached 2.83 billion USD, accounting for about 21% of the total export turnover of the wood industry last year.
Of which, upholstered seats reached 1.87 billion USD, accounting for 65.9% of total export turnover of seats, up 9.1% compared to 2022.
Other types of seats reached 539.9 million USD, accounting for 19.1% of the total export turnover of seats, down 32.1%. Seats with backrests reached 9.5 million USD, accounting for only 0.3% of the total export turnover of seats, down 50.7%.
Seat and other parts reached 401.51 million USD, accounting for 14.2% of total seat export turnover, down 12.4% compared to 2022.

Statistics show that in the first two months of this year, the export value of wood and wood products reached over 2.3 billion USD, up 33% over the same period last year. Of which, the export value of wood products reached over 1.5 billion USD, up 42.8%.
According to the leader of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association, the export market has recovered well. Wooden furniture, chairs, wood chips, plywood, and pellets are the top five export products of our country's wood industry. These are products that have inherited many advantages in 2023 and are forecast to have good growth in 2024.
