At the two largest exhibitions in the wood and furniture industry, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City, including the HAWA Expo 2025 (March 5-7) and the VIFA Expo 2025 (March 5-8), Canadian Wood Vietnam participated and strongly affirmed its commitment to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese wood industry.

Accordingly, at the two exhibitions above, Canadian Wood Vietnam introduced unique furniture collections from companies specializing in manufacturing furniture for export, including Minh Tien, Phu Khang Phat, Chan Hung and Tuong An. These are also businesses participating in the “Canadian Wood Trial Program”.

Through this program, Canada Wood Vietnam not only provides Canadian wood but also provides technical and professional advice so that manufacturers can design and create the most complete products, while helping them expand their connections with potential partners.

Mr. Tran Thanh Ven, Country Director of Canadian Wood Vietnam shared: “Through wood and furniture exhibitions in Vietnam, we have seen a growing interest in sustainable wood species from British Columbia, Canada from domestic and international customers. Therefore, we focus on supporting manufacturers in Vietnam, helping them select and apply Canadian wood to high-quality furniture products. These activities are an essential part of our development strategy in the Vietnamese market, and at the same time demonstrate our efforts to contribute to the growth of the Vietnamese wood industry”.

As a government agency, Canadian Wood does not engage in timber trade activities. In Vietnam, Canadian Wood conducts market development programs with many training, promotion and professional training activities. Since its presence in Vietnam in 2018, Canadian Wood Vietnam has maintained its role as a trusted “companion” of furniture manufacturers, helping them access quality wood from sustainably managed forests in BC.

In 2024, according to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's wood and furniture exports will bring in 16.25 billion USD, up 20% over the previous year. This achievement has contributed to consolidating Vietnam's position as one of the world's leading furniture manufacturing centers. In 2025, with positive prospects, the Vietnamese wood industry is striving to achieve an export turnover of 18 billion USD.

To achieve this goal, manufacturers need to focus on sustainability, legal origin and transparency of wood. Therefore, the need to shift to using certified and sustainably harvested wood not only meets strict regulations for export products but is also a necessary step to keep up with global market trends.
