Singer Celine Dion's older sister has just spoken out about her sister's current condition, after Celine publicly revealed to the media and public about the stiff-person syndrome she suffers from.
Rigor mortis will gradually turn the sufferer into a "living statue" because the body loses its suppleness and flexibility. The rate of people suffering from this disease is very small, only about one in a million people.

This disease causes the muscles to become increasingly stiff. As the patient copes with the disease, the muscles will ache and ache repeatedly. This disease can become so severe that the patient loses the ability to walk and cannot perform simple daily tasks.
In general, this is a disease that has not yet found an effective and permanent cure. Sharing with the media recently, Mrs. Claudette Dion (74 years old) - Celine Dion's sister - said that her younger sister - Linda Dion (64 years old) - has moved in with Celine Dion to conveniently take care of the famous singer.
"Celine is making a lot of effort in her current life. Our sister meets regularly with leading experts in the field of treating stiff-person syndrome. Celine has been doing everything she can. Currently, we have not been able to find any medicine that works for Celine's condition, but it is very important to continue to hope at this time," said Claudette Dion.
This May, Celine Dion officially decided to cancel her international tour Courage World Tour (Photo: New York Post).
At the end of 2022, Celine Dion (55 years old) officially shared about the syndrome she suffered from: "As you know, I have always been an open book with you, I didn't feel ready to say it before, but now I am ready. I have been dealing with health problems for a long time.
It's been really tough for me. I'm still learning about this rare condition, but at least I know what's causing me to go through the pain. Unfortunately, the pain affects every aspect of my life, sometimes it's hard to walk, I can't even sing the way I used to."
In May of this year, Celine Dion announced that after several times of having to postpone her performance schedule, she finally decided to officially cancel her international tour Courage World Tour .
Celine Dion's post read: "It is with great disappointment that my team and I announce that we will be canceling the Courage World Tour. I am so sorry to disappoint you once again. I am working very hard to regain my strength, but touring is too difficult for me right now.
The reality is that even when an artist is at 100% peak performance, touring is still a difficult and exhausting activity. It would be unfair to the audience if I kept postponing shows, even though it broke my heart to have to make those announcements.
The best solution right now is to cancel all shows until I am truly ready to return to the stage. I want you to know that I am not giving up. I look forward to seeing you again!"

Celine Dion's Courage World Tour began in 2019 and had 52 shows before the Covid-19 pandemic temporarily halted the tour schedule.
Celine Dion then had to cancel more shows after doctors diagnosed her with an incurable condition called stiff body syndrome.
The Courage World Tour is Celine Dion's first international tour in nearly a decade. It is also the first tour she has undertaken without her husband, music producer René Angélil, who died of cancer in 2016.
