Celine Dion has made an extraordinary impact on music over the past four decades. From her powerful voice and best-selling albums in both English and French, to inspiring generations of artists and appearing on the soundtracks of some of pop culture’s most iconic films, including Beauty and the Beast (1991), Deadpool 2 (2018) and of course, Titanic (1997), she has established herself as a household name across the globe. The Canadian singer has also made an impact on the fashion scene, with her penchant for appearing on stage and at events in stylish outfits, and also showing off her figure in the 2024 Netflix documentary I Am: Celine Dion , which showcased her extensive personal collection of clothing, shoes and accessories. Celebrating her return to live performance after a four-year hiatus, closing the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony by singing from the Eiffel Tower and in a stunning Dior outfit to boot, the diva showed us how her style has evolved over the years.
2024: Sparkling in a Dior goddess gown on the Eiffel Tower
The French fashion house's dress for the singer was made of white silk and embroidered with more than 500 meters of silver tassels, taking more than 1,000 hours of work.
Her white silk sequined georgette dress, decorated with fringes covered in thousands of silver pearls, was displayed by the fashion house in the brand's private exhibition space dedicated to their relationships with celebrities after the singer wore it.
She has had to take a break from performing live due to a rare condition called rigid person syndrome, which she bravely shared in her recent Netflix documentary I Am: Celine Dion . That made her recent performance at the end of the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony all the more impactful, and Celine Dion singing from the Eiffel Tower in a stunning Dior outfit was the highlight of the show. After all, the singer practically shares her name with Dior, and both have cemented their stardom around the world.
After her performance at the Olympics, the next day she put her French girl style on hold for a 90s-inspired logomania look.
As she stepped out of her hotel, the singer was spotted wearing a matching brown Dior outfit, which included an oversized V-neck jumper and baggy sweatpants. Both pieces featured a pattern that echoed the luxury label's logo, along with white and navy racing stripes.
The singer accentuated the classic feel of the outfit with chunky white lace-up sneakers and a pair of black geometric cat-eye sunglasses for added flair. She pulled her hair back into a bun, which added a sporty touch to her look. Her outfit was on par with the famous outfits seen in the WNBA tunnel, and the diva took her winning performance to the next level, where she performed a stunning rendition of Édith Piaf's Hymne à l'Amour .
The singer went for a slightly more casual look. In an Instagram post the following day, she was seen wearing baggy white jeans and a simple white T-shirt as she looked out of her hotel room in Paris. She completed the cool French look with a gold necklace and purposefully curled hair.
2020: Mugler Magic
"Fashion guru" Dion, who has great relationships with many luxury houses, wore a futuristic yellow bodysuit from the Fall 1995 Haute Couture collection that emphasized the beauty of craftsmanship by only accessorizing with her straight, sleek hair and toned figure.
Archival Mugler is hard to find because pieces shared with celebrities have to be approved by their team. The dress was also worn by Beyoncé in her 2009 Sweet Dreams music video and by model Irina Shayk on the cover of Glamour magazine in 2019.
2019: "Peacocks in full bloom" at Met Gala
Celine Dion in an "alien" Oscar de la Renta gown at the 2019 Met Gala that looked like an exotic bird made a strong visual impact
The dress was inspired by “the glamorous costumes of the Ziegfeld Follies.” The entire ensemble was apparently hand-beaded by 52 master embroiderers. They spent a total of 3,000 hours crafting the dress, which weighed more than 22 pounds. Yet she wore it so effortlessly, so softly.
The 2019 Met Gala theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion , which sent many attendees into a frenzy. However, the singer stole the show in her stunning champagne Oscar de la Renta bodysuit, which was adorned with 3,000 beaded tassels and a gold feathered headdress by producer Noel Stewart. The look was reminiscent of Old Hollywood meets Las Vegas showgirl glamour, and the singer nailed the role to perfection.
Canadian singer Celine Dion has also made an impact in the fashion industry, with her penchant for appearing on stage and at events in stylish outfits, as well as showing off her figure in the 2024 Netflix documentary - I Am: Celine Dion .
