Prime Video has just released the official trailer for the documentary I Am: Celine Dion about the legendary singer's life. For the first time in nearly 2 years since announcing her health status, Celine Dion opens up about her difficult life battling illness and leaving the stage in the documentary I Am: Celine Dion.

In December 2022, Celine Dion shocked fans when she shared her health situation with them. The singer was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome (SPS) - a neurological disease with features of an autoimmune condition.

Stiff person syndrome is a movement disorder that affects the central nervous system (brain or spinal cord). It can cause sufferers to become “statues” unable to walk or talk, and there is no cure. The spasms have affected all of Celine Dion’s daily activities, including singing.

The film is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Irene Taylor.

Celine Dion has been forced to cancel all her tours for the past two years and has not promised a return to the stage. The disease has severely affected the singer's vocal cords, making her unable to sing as before.

In the documentary I Am: Celine Dion, fans will hear Celine Dion talk about her illness for the first time, witnessing the painful and desperate moments when the singer had to stop her career and fight the pain. In the trailer, Celine Dion bursts into tears when talking about the health problems she has faced recently and says she misses the audience and the stage.

“It’s not difficult to do a show, it’s difficult to cancel it. I’m still training hard every day, but I have to admit that I’m in a battle. I miss my audience so much! If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. I won’t stop. The past two years have been a challenging time. It’s been a journey where I’ve had to learn about my illness and condition to live with it, not let it defeat me,” the singer said.
